Edited by: Davadk on 02/12/2010 03:21:16 Edited by: Davadk on 02/12/2010 03:19:29 Hi, I'm new to EVE online (as you can tell). I just recently upgraded to a cruiser class ship and was wondering what is a good fitting for the Thorax. Right now all I have fitted on it is a pare of five (5) 150mm Prototype 1 Gauss Gun. However, their not packing a punch like I thought they would.
I would also like some advice on more then just weapons. For instance, what sort of mods, upgrade, shields, armor, ect I should add to the ship. Also if there are any certain skills you think I need to learn I will get them (if possible) and train them asap.
Thanks in advance for your time.
EDIT: Here is a pic of my fitting in case it may help more.
I bet it probably looks pretty bad but that's what I'm here.
(sorry if this is the wrong forum for this topic.)

5x Warrior's 5x EC-300's
This fit will give you good DPS in the close range while still holding a good buffer. The Warriors are for Frigs and EC-300 ECM Drones for emergency. I left the meta of the mods up to you and your skill level.
If you are missioning use a Vexor they are much better for that.

Edited by: William Cooly on 02/12/2010 03:37:02 The reason they're not packing a punch is that they're long range weapons designed to chip paint at 100km. Also it'd be good if you told us what you want to use the ship for, killing NPC's, killing players, transporting cargo or something similarly wacky, etc. I'm assuming the killing NPC's option here, so don't try to use it to kill other d00dz.

I only made things T2 if you absolutely need to get the T2 of that item as soon as you can, reason being that they're the bread and butter of a lot of fits. Everything else you should go with the highest meta level of (meta level you can find in "Attributes" tab), but still preferable T2. It's not exactly cap stable but it should serve you long enough to finish a L2 mission. -

Wouldn't that fit benefit from a MWD or Afterburner. A lot of NPC's Kite.

Eh I tried but it was too cap instable on max skills and he'll be against mostly frigates anyway on an L2, which is what I assume he's at. Also crap forgot drones. -

Edited by: Davadk on 02/12/2010 03:53:49 Actually I think I'm still on lvl 1. Someone else told me to work on my social and connection skills to get to new lvls faster. Also, I'm gonna try to Vexor out since you said it was better for PvE. I'll still keep my Thorax though for PvP and try to fit it with what you listed. Thanks for the quick reply guys. Very much appreciated.
I'm learning new things evry day with this game so I hope I get better soon. lol

This fit is an epitome of why heavy armour and blasters suck for PvP: It looks nice and gives most ships a run for their money but I'll leave this here for OP as a homework of "what is wrong with this setup"

Is that a hull repper in the midslot of the OP's pic...
Troll, or forget those things exist for any ship you're taking out of a POS FF. Get Eve Fitting Tool. |
