How many megabytes of (server side) log files are created daily?
Just curious? I think its astronomical amount of data or is it?

Considering all the logs show nothing, I would say it's about 1 byte in size. Just enough to make it even considered a file.

Doesn't need to be 1 byte
Just needs pointer to it's location to be a file.

I thought Windows was the only program that was ******ed enough to create thousand of 0 byte files

Nope. And what do you think the EvE servers are running?

I'd guesstimate quite a few gigabytes per day for all server-side logging. Where "few" could be anywhere between 5 and 100.

If the question is actually "how much space does CCP waste on logs" then the answer is "well, archiving a 1gb file to 1mb is not impossible :)". I'm a "Shoot me I suck" specialist. |

Things we KNOW almost certainly that they're logged fully: * each and every market transaction, direct trades and contracts * each and every evemail sent * each and every standings change * each and every login/logoff and some data of location/machine logging in from
Things we know almost certainly are logged to some degree: * each and every move of items from any hangar or container anywhere in another hangar or container, jetcan creation and jetcan item transfers * each and every item reprocessing or trashing * each and every shot fired, or most likely, each and every module activation regardless of what the module is * each and every manufacture, research, invention or reverse engineering job * each and every spatial structure anchoring, unanchoring, onlining and offlining * each and every player ship destruction data * each and every notepad, note or bio edit
Things that MIGHT also be logged to some unknown degree: * fleet join/leave and fleet position changes * NPC destruction data * movement-related command you give to your ship * conversations you might have * time/date you read each evemail * active/idle period
... AND QUITE A FEW OTHER THINGS.
P.S. Also, guesstimated data traffic between server cluster and all clients combined is somewhere in the vicinity of 4 to 40 TERABYTES of data on a daily basis.
way to low guess^^ should be like 40-400tb

I heard that it's about 54x10^14563 Terabytes per day.
