What would u (the MEGA pilots out there) like to be thr megathrons second bonus? u can list ur five faves if u want. try to keep them inline with what other BS or gallante ships have already got (i.e. not +1 warp core stablization , or 5% more power grid per lvl)
mine are, in order of preferance..
1)5% less RoF 2)5% less cap recharge rate 3)5% boost to armor repairers 4)5% more cap 5)5% less cap for mwd per lvl

5-10% bonus to afterburner top speed per lvl maybe? that should save lots of cap and keep the sig radius down.

I think the tracking bonus is fine really, but a bonus to hybrid cap usage would be nice

Ok, heres something that hasnt been mentioned before; why not INCREASE the tracking bonus to 10%?
Id rather drop the damage than the tracking; as a blaster pilot, i have more than enough damage when i hit the damn thing.
Ok, how about dropping the damage bonus and having a 5% reduced powergrid per level for the fitting of hybrid guns? that way its basically a damage bonus as you can squeeze on modal neuts easier., but is a little more flexible.

Tracking is critical for rails and blasters alike. Though the afterburner is an interesting idea A piece of kit that uses less pg and cpu (i think) and uses less cap. With a good bonus to that it may make ot as good as a MWD without all the penalties. Hmm. Though because of the versatility with guns it would make a seriously fast sniperthron too which might be imbalanced?

the tracking bonus is fine, never wanted a lame cap bonus anyways. it screws up the thorax and deimos, and if they give it to megathron it will screw that up too.
so mine are 1. tracking 2. damage 3. damage 4. tracking 5. damage

just fix the guns dont mess with the ships bonuses. that goes for minmitar too.
conversely i think the geddon should get something other than a rof or dmg bonus (since that is largely what pushes megapulse over the edge in damage). ----------------------------------------------

Look. Think about this. at level 5, yes, if you actually trained to level 5, it would be 25% bonus to tracking. a tracking CPU II does MORE, MORE tracking than your bonus, and it's 1 mid slot. So in essence, a mid slot item gives 5% more tracking, and 15% more range.
Now, what other bonus can you better by using 1 slot? the hypothetical 5% rof? when you find a dmg mod that boosts damage by more than 25%, then lemme know. Same with MWD one. when you find a midslot that can give over 1000cap. I'm willing to buy it.
The tracking bonus is such crap. I'd rather have the MWD bonus, and have to fit a tracking cpu, or something. Blasters track decently as long as you arent withing 3km. and I know the electrons I use seem to do max damage orbitting 5km.

1) 5-10% less cap recharge rate per level... so that the cap recharged faster 2) 5% boost to armour repairers 3) 5-10% more cap :)
With these things fixed.. the pg is less of an issue.

Listen guys.
Fact is without the DMG Bonus the Hybrids even the Blasters wouldnt do enough dmg to threaten anyone, for the cap it already uses.
Also Fact is, that the 425mm only has a 0.0006 better Basetracking then the 1400mm Projectile. Take away the the Tracking Bonus and start whining like the Projectile users already doing.
In the end there is no way to switch one Bonus for another without NERFING the Megathron. Cap cool more cap, but with lower dmg, i need to shoot longer -> more cap i will need. Same result except the fact, that your DOT will suck and wont harm a tanked Raven or Apoc.
Mega isnt supposed to be the uber tanker, but the most dmging ship in this univers -> 5% armor rep boost wont fit into this picture and will convert it into a smaller version of a Apoc.
5% Cap for MWD. Sorry but not the MWD usage per boost is killing me, but the fact that shooting with my Blastersetup will use 40 cap/s!
5% less Cap Recharge Rate also wont help on either Rail or Blastersetup.
But tbh i would see some good changes, that would bring the Mega again onto as the most feared dmg dealer.
Changen the 5% dmg Bonus for a 7%-8% Bonus and increase the Tracking Bonus from 5% to 10%. Now you have your feared Blasterboat and a 425mm which will also will get a ballanced DOT due to a bit more dmg and a great Tracking boost.
With this Bonis a blasterthron will have to get in range and the enemy will have heavy problems if not will be doomed. This advantage you will get for the same disadvantages we already have. No Cap and no defense. It will become again a killingmashine without the option to survive if not flown well, but with great dmg. _____________________________________ Dead or Alive

I have leanred large Rail spec. Give me that Bonus and you will panelize my decision.

I tried the 425mm rail setup on my Megathron, but was hitting angel bs rats for 40-90 damage each... that was terrible imo. My wrecking hits were barely over 120. When I used the blasters, I could easily hit the same rats for 2-300, and wrecking hits as high as 570+. I used Lead ammo on the rails, so that explains a lower damage, but sheesh... that much? Is there any recommended setup for a railgun using Megathron? My gunnery skills are sub-par atm, being fairly new to using large hybrids (the skill is only lv2 atm), but aside from further training my skills, how is it that you can be effective using rails? They just seem to do so little damage, and alot of people say railguns are the worst guns to use.
I'm sticking with blasters for now, but honestly, every single megathron I've fought against has used blasters too. I've never seen a "sniper" megathron, but plenty of "sniper" armageddons and apocs and tempests.

Remove cap penalty on MWD altogether for the megathron as somethimg of a special ability. After all, you lubbed the Raven by removing the shield penalty, which is pretty much the reason short range Ravens are replacing blasterthrons atm.
But all these nice changes suggested here and in the other thread only work if the hp changes as proposed atm do NOT come in. If they do, prepare to up teh damage bonus to 10% per level and to reduce hybrid cap use by 50%. _______________________________________________

Just lower significantly the cap usage of hybrids, and it will be good enough. It's not normal that lasers, whose main weakness is supposed to be cap usage, can be more cap-efficient than hybrids, while having several advantages (like the no-ammos usage, insta-switch of crystals, and far better tracking/range ratio).

The current bonusses are fine. MWD bonus will leave the railgunners in the dust forcing them to switch to blasters, because they have to fit a mwd to profit from the new change. And i bet everyone wants to trade the tracking bonus for it. Great now u can get close and still don't do anydamage as you are missing every shot

"Dont touch the ship bonuses, fix the guns- except Amarr, screw their shipbonus" That would leave Amarr as the only race without a BS that have bonus to damage/tracking/RoF, that seems balanced ( no i dont fly amarr, only caldari ships )
I do not think you can put the whole blame on the damage output for the armageddon on it¦s bonus, i would guess it has something to do with the 4-5 tech II damagemods in the lowslots on the arma and the pilots skills. If a armageddon pilot want to sacrifice all his defense for offensive capability that is completely fair in my eyes since he goes down when he cant get a lock.
The main problem is the megapulses flexibility of range and/or the tracking, not the armageddon and it¦s bonuses.

Lasers already better than any other weapons. Only with Shipbonus the hybrids and Projectils CAN do more dmg. But you forgot to mention that, with the HUGE PG&CAP the Apoc has it can fit better weapons and still maintain a 2xlarge Armor Repairer defense.

I have never mentioned the Apoc, i am aware of why it¦s damagebonus was replaced on the Apoc and it is ok as it is now.
But what does the replaced damagebonus and the grid/cap on the Apoc has to do with my post about the armageddons RoF bonus?
With "better guns" i assume you refer to the Mega pulse lasers since if you fitt a Apoc with Mega Beam Lasers you need at least 1 RCU ( with high skills ) in low to be able to fitt 8th of them and has no grid left to fitt a tank. To fitt 8th tachyons you need 3 RCU I or 2 RCU II and has no grid left to tank either.
