Which system or constellation would be considered to be the geographical centre of the map?
By that I mean, from which system or constellation would it be the least number of jumps to reach the boundaries of the empire and lowsec systems in every direction?

Old corp I was in found a wh that connected Curse to Providence so I'd say there's probably a wh that will take you from one side of Eve to the other.
Somewhere in the jump is the center of Eve

I know that some people like to have voluntary periods of abstinence.
Yeah, I use that excuse too.

My first guess would be somewhere around Ikao. It ends up on far too many of my long-distance routes.

Edited by: Toshiro GreyHawk on 05/12/2010 16:14:12 I don't really know ... you could just bring up the map and look at it ... but I'd think the most important factor would be the number of jumps it took to get from place to place. It might be kind of hard to find someplace where you had really good routes to get to a lot of places from. The point Mara made about Ikao could be a good indicator.
To a limited degree, within it's own space, Amarr is set up like a hub with long jumps to several different areas but most of the other factions aren't set up that way.
At one time ... I've heard there was something like a "highway" of routes in EVE that would move you along fairly fast but they did away with that for some reason I've forgotten the reasoning behind.

IIRC that was done to nerf Yulai as a supertradehub since it was "the crossroads" of these "highways". _
I like to play this game because it make my in-game actions and archievments to mean something in-game. |

It's a land mark called "Point of No Return" You'll see it on the map, next to Unertek. Right click on the name to get a menu, you can get the description there.
For the lazy it says "Point of no Return is a small black hole located not far from empire space. The black hole is rather old and was formed by a sun only just large enough to create a black hole when it collapsed. One interesting fact about it is that itĘs located more or less exactly in the center of the known world, if you only count those systems that have been linked with star gates." and further more why do i even need a sig? |
