Was on the last pocket of In the Midst of Deadspace Part 1.
Popped the sentry guns first, then had guns focus on the battleships, and drones gradually take out frigs. Frigswarm was the issue I think.
Single rep, 2x2x hardeners, two cap rigs etc. Nothing faction.

kronos has a 51.3% base kinetic resist, so I doubt the 2 ships using kinetic missiles is that damaging.
gun ships are good at taking out frigs at range, so might want to try killing some of the frigs off with your guns first thing. they like to fly right at you with low transversial and get one shot by most battleship guns.

I have a corpie who flies the Kronos who gave up on that "safe" fit, finding that more gank actually felt safer.
Try 3x FN MFS, IN LAR, 2x1 T2 Hardener + EANM II in the lows? Then TCII, FN Web, CRIIx2 in the mids.
Pop frigs first. Web is really for cruisers that get close enough - frigs shouldn't survive to get to web range. --- Some days you are the pigeon, and some the statue. |

What went wrong - for most missions, not all - not enough DPS. Thus I say to thee - go forth and fiteth thy ship correctly. 4 x 425s 4 slots for shield tank (do the best you can) or shield tank + AB 4 damage mods 3 tracking enhancers(might have to change 1 for DC for the extra tank) 3 sentry drones light drones

I disagree with the sentries, as sitting still when they get close hurt your ability to move to get angular up or missile velocity down. I perfer a Ex/TH Medium mix, as I mostly encounter Angels and Serps where I run missions.
The fit below is great for keeping you moving without having to swap tank every mission. If the tank isn't holding propperly you F* up in agro and target prioritization.
The link augmentor is for when I run missions alongside my friend. His vaga likes to sit out 50Km from me and shoot cruisers on their way in. But for the most part, you should only really need drones to assist with close cruisers/frigs, and extra DPS to drop a swarm of BS's on approach.
But also with this you can see which modules we do agree on.
710 DPS from the guns, 450 omni tank that holds just fine.

It's far more likely that he was just getting curb stomped by Jakar's
I can tank an insane amount of ships in a gank fit Vargur but as soon as you drop two Jakar's on me my tank starts to break.... they hit hard, so hard in fact that they make Darkana's look like children.

Doing missions mainly for caldari but my kronos is able to solo all of them, my fit: 3x Magnetic field stabiliser II Damage control II 2x ENAM II Large armor repairer II
med: 3x Cap Recharger II AB /web depending on mission.
high: 4x 425mm rail [I'm using t2, but gauss doing great and there are cheap] 2x tractor beam salvager
drones: 5x med specific to mission 5x small 5x small [backup]
rigs: Nano pump x2
Ship bonuses are used optimally that way. LAR is repping around 1300 hp on cycle. [maruder skill lev 4] shooting, repping and salvaging is cap stable with ab it can fly for around 5min which is enough to get some distance and lower traversal.
I didn't have the mission you've mentioned but if those hard hitting bastards coming close...don't let them, fire ab, get in line reduce traversal and kill them from distance. And don't let frigs surround you. At 50-40km frigs coming straight at you dying from a salvo or 2. Best option to have long range ammo and shoot them from 80-70km...leave bs for last.

The Navy Webber is there for the lols. I am planning to get around to replacing the tracking comp with a faction variant at some point.
This mission can catch you out if you do not manage agro carefully. The Jakars do hit hard, so take the correct group first and snipe the incoming frigs.
