am i doing this wrong? Im surely showing this BPO as producing a loss every month/year instead of a profit.
~400 minutes per batch in a POS, 108 batches a month, 1296 batches a year... 6,480,000 missles a year at 197 (jita price) = 1.276b/year
251isk/missle build price (rocket fuel kills the profitability) = 1.632b/year in expenses
= -333m roughly a year.

No, you're right. You will want/need to use PI to procure your own rocket fuel (350 units/day), which dramatically reduces your production costs. And you get the added benefit of selling your own excess rocket fuel.
This isn't a walk in the park like other T2 BPO's but it's most definitely profitable for those who aren't too lazy to do a little PI.

That you do, and to each his own. You can whine about the potential value of minerals, but the person who sells at the lowest prices takes home the profit, where and how you get the minerals is another story.
