Lets go back in time lets say 200+ years, take any woman or man, how did they deal with unwanted hair, like leg hair etc, I know they had scissors but trimming is only really good for certain areas, how did people wax or was having hairy legs / chest normal?

Hair makes people look older and gayer than they are, before I shave I look 108 years old and after I shave I look 17
So did women in the old days just have bushy monobrows lol?

If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder then surely oldness and gayness as well?

It still is.
You know, world wasn't ruled by marketing and media 200+ years ago.
Styles and vanity points change from time to time.
It's actually both sad and funny you even question whether it's normal that some people have a hairy chest.
Maybe in a hundred years someone will ask if having hair at all is normal. No eyebrows, no hair, no nothing. Just like the "aliens"

I wasnt manipulated into hating hair tbh, when I was a teen my hair growth wasnt that flattering so I played experimented with my sisters veet and hair dye, results were pretty impressive.
Plus I have really light skin and really dark hair which doesnt really work at all :(

Back in those days having a bit of extra hair meant a bit of extra insulation.. meant your cold winter nights were .5 degrees less cold than that of a bald man

They used an open razor (i.e. a sharp blade). Some barbershops still use them. The barbershop I go to, for example, uses a straight razor to shave the sideburns, around the ears, and the back of the neck.
Roman soldiers, for example, would shave their arms/legs with their bladed weapons to test how sharp they were. If they could shave the hair off of their legs/arms easily with the blade, then the blade was deemed "sharp". If it couldn't shave the hair off easily, then it was deemed "dull".
In some cultures they simply didn't ever shave. This could be because being shaved was a practice reserved for the wealthy who had servants to do it for them, or because shaved legs/arms implied that you were a prostitute. In other cultures, shaving was just simply something that people didn't do. ----------

For some unknown reason you lose most heat via your head percentage wise. So having a thick hat/hair will let you conserve more energy. Evolution decided that having your head freeze is a bad thing that should be avoided at all cost. That's why the head/brain doesn't lose any circulation, it circulates as much warm blood in cold as in warm situations. |

Tweezers. Until the razor was invented if you didn't want it, it got plucked. Oneā at ā aā time.
If that doesn't make you cringe, left me help someā In Ancient Rome, it was considered unfashionable to have body hair. Any body hair. The Roman baths had attendants whose sole job in life was to pluck body hair. Now think about the typical Italian. How long do you think it took to get each and every hair plucked?

Some fun facts for you all :D

The reason most barbers don't use straight razors anymore, is because they are so sharp, it's hard to not cut someone. And with the spread of diseases through blood, most have decided to not use them at all. I've always wanted a straight-razor-shave by a barber. Just can't find a barber that will do it anymore.

In fact, you do loose most of your heat through your head. HOWEVER, this is only due to how we dress. Your head, or at least some part of it, is usually exposed, so that's where the heat transfer will take place. If we walked around naked, the heat loss would be evenly distributed throughout the body, but probably more from your core, since that is where the majority of heat in your body is.

If they learned it from the folks further east/south, then they would use twisted strings and could pull out several 10th per second. See Turkish hamams (bathing-house) for instance.
Afaik several afrikan/desert folks used to remove all of their hair to get rid of fleas/ticks and the like as they couldn't wash them self that easily with water so scarce.

I don't know about that. The human body reacts to cold weather, by constricting the blood vessels close to the surface of the skin - so that we lose less heat per unit surface area of skin.
The head, however, does not have this reaction, as the brain requires enormous amounts of oxygen to operate. SO the colder it gets, the higher % of heat loss you have through the head.
NOW, you need to understand the "myth" properly in order to say that it is true. For example, you could mean two things:
1) More than 50% of heat lost, is through the head. This is obviously FALSE.
2) The greatest % of heat lost PER UNIT OF SURFACE AREA is from the head, as opposed to the rest of the body per unit of surface area. This is true in cold weather, and so long as you are not physically exerting yourself. ----------

Wax, razors, or tweezers. They've all been around for a very, very long time.
Fun fact - you can shave with just about any sharp knife. You can find knives from prehistoric times onward in pretty much every culture.
Electric razors are a luxury, not a necessity. So is shaving, for that matter. Many cultures don't care about things like armpit hair or leg hair.
