Alright so I was checking out the different barges and noticed that Procurers ((200%)) and Retrievers ((50%)) get a role bonus to mining, in theory doesn't this make them mine nearly as much as a hulk? Or am I miss calculating here?
Just a quick question is all. |

The hulk gets the Covetor's bonus ontop of an Exhumer special bonus. So it gets double the bonus, but yes, the difference between a Covetor and a Hulk now is not too big, it used to be a far larger difference. |

On the other hand, I believe the training required to move between them was reduced?
Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

Just a quick question is all.
Sorry for another post, but you also have to remember. The Procurer has a 200% role bonus, but can only fit one laser. So un-optimized cycles will severely impact you, the Retriever can fit 2 lasers, but once again, still will be impacted by poor laser optimization, where as the hulk and covetor have a bit more room to play with 3 lasers each. |

Yes, you can fly any mining barge upon training mining barge I. Which is nice considering the Covetor for carebear miners was kind of silly since it took 2 less days of training than a hulk to pilot so was often overlooked. |

I actually have a related question relative to ice mining. Do the procurer/skiff and retriever/mackinaw role bonus come into play here as well? Is it represented through a reduction in cycle time or something? |

Yes they get reductions in ice mining cycle time so that their 1 and 2 ice harvesters match the base output of the Covetor hull's 3. In other words, before skills the Procurer's 1 Ice harvester will have 3 cycles for each Covetor cycle ( with 3 harvesters). |

For what its worth, dont forget to take into account rock management. If I get distracted surfing reddit and miss turning off my laser mid cycle it doesnt hurt me as much in the Hulk. When you are running only 2 highly buffed lasers letting one run half a cycle pulling in nothing is more impactful. So you need to have better roid management when you run 2 lasers compared to 3. |
