Hate to think that as a new player in EVE (less than a week) that I have mis-spent my monies. I am haveing many reboot, cdt, and system freeze issues as well...most recently entering a station. <sigh> I hate getting taken for a ride.
I play and have played many mmorpg's over the last 6 yrs (EQ,DAoC,AO,Morrowin,Horizons,SWG,Linage2,FFXI and some im' sure I forgot)..I have not had this number of presistant(least they seem presistant from the dates of the posts I'm reading)problems in a game since Morrowin and Horizons. I'm suprised EVE survived this far if these are the kinds of issues the player base has had to put up with over the years.
Oh, EVE, I'm still stuck!!

Well, now tonight it's changed! Now I'm experiencing extreme lag (and NO it is not my ISP, I've monitored that carefully). I also have gotten stuck, been warping in autopilot through the same sector over and over about 20 times before I turned off autopilot (very wierd), froze in stations, etc.
This reminds me a great deal of the end of Earth and Beyond, the way the server went to hell at the end before it died entirely. |

Only to confirm the already discussed problems:
First PC: Intel Celeron, 2.6 G, 256M, SE9200 128M, XP SP2: crashes sometimes since shiva when warping and changing view with mouse
Second PC: AMD XP 3200, 512M, 9600, XPSP2. since some days loose quite often connection. This PC is working since a year extrmely stable. Also with eve. Except this conncection losses since some days. Strange...

Count me in too....EVE runned like a "natte drol" for the most part with multiple accounts. I would like to see this problem, which is getting bigger, going to the direction of solved. But who knows....maybe tomorrows patch gives us some more enlightment. Still i'm confident that they are working on it atm. This must have gotten some of their attention somewhere.

Hmmmm, same problem as many of you.
However, my situation only matches a couple above. I had no problems at all until I switched to a LAN and now i drop exactly as stated every few mins.
I think the guy talking about using TS to keep the connection live also has something - can't say what, but I've had similar effects.
Will try switching back to the old modem shortly and see if it fixes it.

Im also getting these problems, like everyone else - seemed to manifest itself towards the end of last week ... yesterday I dropped 20 times easily ... and yes Im running through a router ... Ive been running logserver and theres nothing to indicated anything going wrong until it does crash with the error number 0xC0000005 which I think might be an access violation , but of what, I don't know.
What I do know is that when it goes, sometimes it just goes back to the desktop and the game can be restarted, sometimes it goes back to the desktop but EVE will not start and logserver shows weird errors - its like a problem with the python parser, and twice now its caused a BSOD.

Got exactly the same problem alot of people are describing here. And in the error log its always the "Destructor called before being closed" one.
For Example:
Quote: 172 : triui.UIWindow: Window simplepic (144A1E00) destructor called before being Closed 171 : triui.UIWindow: Window inlines (14503DF0) destructor called before being Closed 170 : triui.UIWindow: Window hasNode (02ABE9B0) destructor called before being Closed An exception has occurred. It has been logged in the log server as exception #35
Since so many people got this since patch, cant we get a response from cpp that theyre working on it or something? Or make this a sticky?
I wanna play eve again...

After I finally got an email from a GM saying "yes its a problem and we are trying to fix it", I tried to follow up on that, and work with them to fix it. The next GM didn't read the emails at all, and just started over again asking me to do a tracert and a dxdiag.
It's very frustrating to me, sending in emails about problems and the answers that come back clearly show they didn't even read it. |

As has been said, most problems are caused by the routers in between, not by the player's hardware or eve's programming.
People here like to jump to conclusions and like to blame someone else, and i'd suggest those people try and keep quiet for a bit untill the people find out wehat the problem really is.
If the EVE server has a faulty uplink, i haven;t noticed anytihg about it. My conenction to EVE has been stable since deep beta, on more than a dozen pc's and connections. Why some people have problerms with it, i don't know, but blaming it on EVE is too rash an action imho.

Edited by: Dutchpowercow on 06/02/2005 23:41:32 My appolagies should I have offended anyone. That wasnt my intention. I certainly not trying to blame anyone either and I aint mad or angry. I just anxious to play eve again and hope they can tell me how to fix the problem somehow.
I was just trying to find out if cpp knew about the problem, and if so, was kwowing or working a solution to it. Thats all
Il be patient hehe

Well, i'm on the 14-day trial and I kinda like this game, but...
This is a huge problem. Sometimes I can't stay on for more than even a few seconds (like now). On average i would say I disconnect once every three jumps, but sometimes it is way more frequent, while rarely it is acyually stable enough that I forget how frustrating the constant disconnects are and start to even like the game
Could some dev or some such respond, tell us if there is anything we can do to help track down exactly where the problem is? I have seen switching problems before with online games I play between me and the host server, but they are always fixed within a few days, this one seems to have been going on for quite some time

This is Arghar/Garghor. My main is Garghor which has all the disconnect problems. What I have found is that while the Garghor toon may become completely unplayable to where there is no connection as soon as I get ingame (you can tell right away by opening your wallet if you really have a connection) every time I try, I can log on using Arghar (same account) and there will be no problem with the connection at all, then quit and go back to Garghor and connection is fubar.

Just another post about the same problem.
The problem started about a day ago. I get disconnected every 5-10 minutes and it's most apparent when I can't move stuff from can/hangar or check wallet... The chat will work for a moment longer and then... "connection lost"
I also play via router.

Category: CCP: Announcements | Author: News Bot v2 11:30, 10. February 2005 We've been plagued by various causes for server outages the last weeks. Most notably of those are the node deaths, which we have been deploying server hotfixes roughly two times a week the last months to address. We have some more we're going to deploy and won't stop until node deaths are minimized.
Other causes have been causing instability, most recently an traffic load balancer failed over causing all connections to disconnect this morning. Yesterday we had a server hotfix fail causing half of the nodes to die which was fixed in the following reboot.
We sincerely apologize for the state of the servers in the recent months, but assure you that we are working hard to stabilize Tranquility

Well, I've not been able to use Eve constructively because of this for over 2 weeks. Barely managed to log on and start skills.
That's a long time for CCP to leave me stewing for - and there's no guarantee that the problems they're working on are going to help me.
Well done CCP!!!!!!!

I just signed up, yay! I've had some problems also. Specifically computer crashes but only when I happen to be in an area with npc drones. I'm kinda confused about it and havn't gotten a response from tech support in a few days. I'm kinda disturbed by the "months" term used above. Has the game really had problems for that long? I'm coming from FFXI and am kinda spoiled into stability. I had WoW but left because of their server problems. I hope things get worked out. The game looks great and I have to commend the player base on their awesomeness!

Edited by: SKULLCRUSHER on 11/02/2005 07:25:45 I know this may not help but try moving the soundcard. My wife addressed the same issue with mine and I now am able to play without continuous crashes/freezes, unlike this time a week ago. I too was crashing/freezing every few minutes and last night I was able to stay online for well over 90mins before "Connection Lost". This I can live with as I know it's not my fault! So, now, my computer has my graphics card in 1 slot and then a blank slot, then my soundcard! Never thought it could be this simple to fix but...........IT WORKED! Hope it helps out guys!

man i understand nothing of all this. all i know is that i was just getting my third practice mission and i started flying towards a spaceport or sumthing. then i got disconnected with the same error everyone seems to get and i still can't connect to the server ATM.
so, if anyone knows a very simple way to fix this, that would help. please no big things that makes my head *****, just click here, do that, click there stuff okay .
just how do they think i will ever pay for this anyway? in these 2 days i play this trial it all went **** :/ . i hope it will be fixed 'cause so far i COULD play it it was fun.

Everything was fine for me this Wednesday and before. Today I can't stay connected for more then five minutes. I just get disconnected with a message about lost server. Mostly happends after I try to open some in-station service, activate a ship module, etc. Everything else on my computer works as before.
This is utter crap. Whatever they did to the servers within the last two days needs to be undone.
******* Friday night...

This has literally just started happening to me. It was fine last night but since DT today I am getting disconnect (both clients at the same time) every few minutes. My connect it rock solid.
This is damned annoying. No idea what the resolution is going to be.

Edited by: Razin on 12/02/2005 22:20:25 If you look at the server status graph here www.eve-i.com you can see that there is a percentage of people constantly logging on and off (or being disconnected in the manner described in this thread) by how jagged the line is. That line is usually much smoother.
I can only hope that all of those people are finilg bug reports to CCP...

While it's realy hard to argue with your ironclad reasoning, nowhere do I say that people cdting has anything to do with the graph.
I don't cdt, I just get lagged out and then disconnected when I jump, dock, activate ship module, train a skill, open the ship fitting panel, etc. Happens everytime.

Just an update on my problems: since downtime I can't log in 9 times out of 10 tries (where as untill downtime at least I was able to log in on the first try everytime).

I have been suffering this problem since just before the recent patch. It first started as intermittant disconnects.
I have made a bug report and followed up on all of the suggestions made by the GMs. I was able to connect 1 time, updated my skills for my main & my alt, but since then I have been unable to maintain a connection at all. Everytime I get to "aquiring bulk data" the client crashes and restarts showing a message that "the connection was lost". Now it's been over 2 weeks I have been unable to connect at all. My skills training has expired, my lab slots have been lost, and I have 2 accounts I am paying money for and cannot play.
I have re-installed my OS(XP-SP2), I have downloaded & installed the full client, I have all updates & current drivers, my ISP is fine(DSL connection) any other internet games works fine, and am still unable to connect.
All I get from CCP is that "I should be able to connect & play, the problem must be my hardware or my ISP". Where does this leave me? After over 8 months of commitment in time & money, I am left hanging without any solutions. If anyone can suggest a way to resolve this please post it!!!
