Since the release of the INCURSION "upgrade" it seems performance has sucked. At first I thought it was caused by running EVE on a poor dual core laptop with a mere 4GB memory. However even running it on a quad core with 8GB memory I still see the lag. I have an excellent internet connection. Anyone else seeing this ?

Going from dual core to quad core will do next to nothing. How about your graphics card, the important part, and conveniently, the main thing you failed to mention in your post? _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I've had the opposite observation - I have less lag now, and the game runs smoother even with AA turned on. Seems like CCP did a good job there.

Jumping gate and loading next system takes longer. I once had to load so long that gate cloak wore out. Doesn't matter how few or many people are in system.

Edited by: Death FromBehind on 14/12/2010 03:24:22 Waste of time. When nothing has change on client side it must be my computers fault.

Quad cores are slower than dual cores, so this is probably what increased his lag.

In general I have found Eve much, much better since part 1 (Except of course all the frackin sockets being closed) ====================================== I used to be a nice guy, but the utter lack of common sense on these forums has turned me into a prick. when jumping intot he 1600 pilots in c3n other day the lag on jumpin and to load the grid once in was around 30 seconds and that was with 1600 in local so id say its improved slightly tbh . mod lag was bad at first then went down to about 10 seconds of lag then towards the end when the number of people in the system was going down the lag got worse and i couldnt move at all.
but id say gate jumping and loading grid is better now. |

I'd actually agree with the grid loading part, I was in that same fight. However module activation and status changes were still crazy. I was on grid for 3 hours shooting that damn POS, and I only managed to fire 22 rounds of antimatter. Also, the transversals were totally borked, because I orbited an enemy titan at 180 m/s and the ragnorok still managed to hit me with his arties, which I wouldn't think possible for a titan.

I notice changing ammo ( lasers) takes about 3 seconds instead of being instant. i guess many people dont notice because they use normal guns/missiles or just always use the same crystal it seems to happen in missions or high pop systems.

Edited by: AkJon Ferguson on 14/12/2010 05:17:22 I've had weird reload lag (in near-empty systems) and a few times had no characters display (all slots empty) on startup (so I've had to restart.) I've also had looting lag. Not sure if it's on my end or CCP's.

Reload lag, yeah. Jumping through gates and cynos is significantly faster tho.
But today, almost lost a ship because the injector kept getting stuck on each booster. Argh. Opening info on characters sometimes 'freeze' for 3-10sec as well.
So some better, some worse. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |
