After grinding missions for the Caldari Navy I'm finding that my relationship with the Federation is turning a bit sour.
I've found some Gallente Corporations in Caldari space that will still talk to me. My question is which corporations are best for grinding standings with the Gallente's but won't seriously affect my Caldari standings.
I hear the the Sisters of Eve are pretty good for this.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

You do not automatically loose standing when you do missions for a faction. Only the missions specifically directed against another faction will cost you standing, and you are free to decline these.

While technically true, the above post is very misleading.
Running normal missions for Gallente corporations will not affect your Caldari standings unless you shoot Caldari ships, but to increase your Federation standings you will need to do Storyline missions, and they will affect your Caldari standings no matter who they are against. In fact a Storyline mission against Caldari will have a double effect.
Sisters of Eve is the best way to do what you want.
Gallente storylne missions give a -0.5 adjustment to Caldari standings for every +1.0 to Gallente.
Sisters of Eve storyline missions give a -0.025 adjustment to Caldari standings for every +0.8 Gallente.
This is about as good as you will get.
I am crap at linking, but if you google "Faction standings chart" and you will be able to see the complete breakdown of how different faction changes affect each other. It is actually extremely complex.

Thanks for your replys.
I've found this chart http://www.newedenlibrary.net/eon/faction_standings.shtml It shows the relationships between the factions quite well. How ever I have a few more questions.
1. Is there any way to control who gives me storyline missions?
2. What if getting a storyline while doing missions for SoE sends me to a Caldari faction corporation? Wouldn't that effectively wipe out the standing's gain from my SoE missions?
3. How do your personal standings with agents correlate with faction standings? If my Caldari standings get to low will some agents not talk to me even if I have a +9.6 relationship with them?

You will get storyline missions form the closest storyline agent for that faction. I do not know which agent you will get if there are multiple storyline agents for that faction that are the same distance. If you want to select a specific storyline agent, I suggest that you ensure that it is the closest storyline agent to your regular agent.

You will always be sent to a storyline agent belonging to the same faction as your regular agent. If the faction does not have any storyline agents (Interbus) then you simply won't get any storyline missions.

If any effect standing (agent/corp/faction) is lower than -2.0 you will not be able to work for that agent unless it is a level 1 agent with negitive quality. As long as your effective standings (including Diplomacy) are higher than -2.0, you will be able to work for the agent if any of your standings (agent/corp/faction) meet the agent's minimum requirements.

I always recommend doing Sisters of EVE missions as they hardly decrease your Caldari/Amarr standings while having a very high correlation (derived standing) with Gallente.
It's best to do it before your Gallente gets under -5.0 though as a lot of Sisters agents are located in Gallente space ..

Fixed!
It would be fair to say that the reverse is true, Gallente standings increases have a very high correlation with Gallente, as working for Gallente will increase your SoE standings faster than working for SoE will improve your SoE standings. However, your derived standings increases from SoE will be less than half that of working for Gallente directly. Concidering the correlation between Gallente and Minmatar is 80%, the SoE standings increase is not very strong.

Hmm. based on that chart it seems that for every percentage I get towards SoE, I get 48% of that added to my Gallente standings and 0.15% taken from my Caldari standings. Am I right?
As a side note, is there any ingame reason as to why SoE and the Caldari don't get along?

Correct! Originally by: Inconsistent Revelations As a side note, is there any ingame reason as to why SoE and the Caldari don't get along?
Role playing: The Caldari state does not value individual rights as highly as the Gallente or Minmatar. This places the value system of the Caldari in slight opposition to that of the Sisters of Eve.
Game mechanics: By design, there is no way to gain standings with the four major factions at the same time. Therefore all factions that have storyline agents are aligned with either the Gallente/Minmatar block or the Caldari/Minmatar block. Game balance wise, SoE fills a similar role in relation to Gallente, that Mordu's Legion fills in relation to Caldari: a minor faction with correlated standings gains.

You know where I can find a good faction derived standings cross table? This one seemed ok but when missioning for Khanid Kingdom I get no Amarr derived standings, only Caldari (and negative Minmatar and Gallente)?
