Although I was born on a Gallente world, I was raised in an Intaki way. In a culture of extremes, I was taught to walk the path of quiet moderation. In a city of material excess, I was taught that the physical world is but a veil of illusion over a greater truth. In a Federation prizing individuality above all else, I was taught that I was nothing if not a part of my people. In the great ocean of Gallente culture, I like so many other Intaki was a drop of water set against the tide.
We are living in a time of extremes. Sansha Kuvakei and his Nation seek to supplant humanity as we know it. CONCORD draws the empires headlong into war even as their own leadership is compromised. Tensions between State and Federation, Republic and Empire grow toward a violent terminus. Like the city of Caille where I was raised, the cluster has become a place of extremes, excesses and illusions.
Now, more than ever, the Intaki people must remember to do things in an Intaki way. It is our heritage to walk the path of quiet moderation, to consider the illusions of this world and the greater truths they suggest, and to remember always that we are a part of something greater than ourselves. We are Intaki.
Since our adoption into the Gallente Federation, the Intaki people have become a powerful political force. Our voices ring out through planetary parliaments and Federation councils alike. In the true spirit of Gallente democracy, we have claimed our rightful place in the Federation. Even more importantly, we have largely done so in an Intaki way.
Now, however, as the Federation rushes headlong into war on multiple fronts, we must ask ourselves if our interests are being served. We must ask ourselves if our ways are being preserved. As the tide of Gallente extremism grows ever stronger, we must recognize that our culture is at risk of being drowned out altogether. We must ask ourselves if it is time for the Intaki people to part ways with the Gallente Federation - not in violence but peacefully, quietly, in an Intaki way.

Im not born an Intaki, im a genuine Gallente from a miners bloodline, but i approve of this.
All of us, Intaki or not are fast losing our identities. I for one believe its time for a Reniassance of sorts.
Regardless if you are or are not Intaki-its time to get to work on repairing what weve lost thus far. And help eachother do so as well. We are a free people. Save ourselves we must. ******************** A Question: If a Soldier is too scared to fight, how many people will he kill? The Answer: NONE. The Piont: Psychological Warfare. Tiberius Wenchel, do you believe the Amarr slaver ships or the Sancha True Slaves will listen to your Intaki way, when they enslave your people by the millions? Do you believe the Caldari Corps will listen to your Intaki way, if they can make money out of your misery? Do you believe the priates of low sec will listen to your peaceful Intaki way, when they blow up your freighters? Do you believe the terrorists will listen to your Intaki way, when they tear down your nice cities? Do you even believe the big capsuleer corps will take a damm **** of your Intaki way when they invade your teritory? The Gallente Federation is the only place in New Eden where your Intaki way is listend too, in all rightfull respect. Think of that!

Actually, we've found that we can make a lot more money if people are happy. Happy people tend to buy more of our products. - - -

Amarr slavers abduct Intaki citizens now ?

Mr. deBrabant, I believe that in your blind nationalism you have mistaken careful moderation for sheepish pacifism. Perhaps you are unaware of the sovereignty currently maintained by the Intaki people in the Syndicate region. Perhaps you are unaware of the many Intaki who enjoy quiet prosperity as citizens of the Caldari state. The path of our people branches out through the entire cluster.
As a people, we have enjoyed peace and prosperity as members of the Federation. We are, however, in no way beholden to the Federation for our existence. Your stated beliefs are a perfect example of the extremism that brings me to question our continued participation in the Federation.

You really should make such comments if you are fully aware of what is going on in Intaki. In no way are we the cause of the Intaki misery, and do not exploit the Intaki people.
We do listen, we do feel, and we support the Intaki as they have done for us in the past.

Wise words, Tiberius. The Ida - our way of consideration - can indeed be of help in troubled times and is something in which all can find a deeper understanding.
I also agree with your words that if the Intaki are to find their own path, then it needs to be done in the Intaki way, and those who use unrestrained violence and bigotry as the tools of Intaki unity are betraying the Ida and following poison.
I do not wish to offend, but it seems to me that a man of your deep understanding is wasted in the service of the Angel Cartel. Perhaps there is a better way that you could be spending your time?

Hmmm, if you want to start considering this, i reccomend you remember what happened when our people left the Federation... after all, we wanted to leave peacefully at first. It was only after they refused to let us go that the terrors of war erupted.

Edited by: Amseln deBrabant on 17/12/2010 14:00:10 Mr. Wenchel in no way i would stand in your way to freedom. If you or the Intaki as a whole feel not save and free in the Gallente Federation, well, if its up only to me, you may leave the Federation and go wherever you want.
You as a person already did that as you are loyal to Angel Cartel pirates. I found it therefore somewhat disturbing that you urge your people to leave the save heaven that is the Federation. Maybe the Cartel needs some more targets? So i am a nationalist you claim? From a pirates view maybe. I am not into pirates affairs and thinking. But first place i am a fighter for save freedom, prosperity and happiness to all, and that, Sir, is what the Gallente Federation stands for.

For the record, I am still a capsuleer citizen of the Federation in good standing. While it is true that I am facing charges for violations of CONCORD restrictions on AI research, I am innocent of such and confident that the tribunal will find in my favor.
It is also true that I work for a corporation that does extensive business with the Angel Cartel. This is not a fact I have tried to hide, nor is it something I feel I should have to. When CONCORD and the Federation chose to prosecute me for legitimate research, the Cartel extended a hand and an offer of support. I took it gladly. While their methods may at times be questionable, I find them to be no more so than any of the CONCORD sanctioned empires.

If you want to go, just go. Declare your independence and spare us the florid language and the flaccid justifications. If you no longer want to be a part of the Federation, that's your right. Just spare us all the "Federation is ebil, this is why we must break away!" garbage.
I hope you'll enjoy your new "benefactors"; the megacorps, the Sansha, and the pirates. I'm sure they'll be more than willing to listen to your moderate and measured arguments. |

The answer to your question is a resounding "No!". Now is not the time to leave the Federation.
Your entire premise is false. There is no "rising tide of extremism" in the Federation.

And for the record, no. Amarr ships do not go around collecting Intaki or even Gallente slaves.
Khanid ships do.
However, I see a similar set of circumstances. Khanid split from the Empire and later learned to work alongside it; a vital part of a greater whole. Perhaps a similar resolution could be applied to the Intaki issue?

Since leaving the Tyranny of the Federation long ago, the Caldari people have achieved much and have embraced their own strength.
Do the Intaki people wish themselves a similar success?
The voice of your people may ring out loudly in planetary parliaments, but it seems in a culture where everyone has a loudspeaker, it can difficult to hear anything at all.

Kainta'Ahm,
Your father was a great man. Placid certainly could still use him around.
The Serpentis threat has not vanished, they still operate in Placid with near impunity, posing a danger to our people. Our forces, as well of those of our friends in Ishukone-Raata root out the Serpentis villains wherever possible, but we could certainly use Illoren right now.
I remember when I was studying for my capsuleer's licence at the Federal Navy Academy reading about Vorada Kuvakei criticising the Federal taskforce for its inept response to RISE and starting to wonder whether the Federation could be doing more in Placid. It was the beginning of my radicalisation, you might say.
As for Tiberius, if you ever wish to come work actively in an organisation which seeks to promote Intaki welfare, without being highly morally questionable, the doors of the Intaki Liberation Front are always open to a brother.

Dear Tiberius, As a fully committed fellow Intaki with Intaki interests as I am, I can only tell you this: the Intaki way of the present consists of mainly two things, as [ITAKI] is currently doing:
1) Engage in our efforts towards Syndicate Stability. There is no possible way for the Intaki to achieve self determination and economic development at the same time without re-linking with our friends in the Syndicate. Reason for this is obvious: the Federation won't let Intaki to achieve self determination and economic development at its full extent while we have to use Federation trade lines and infrastructure. And to engage in our efforts towards Syndicate Stability you'll need another Intaki way that I know very good, which is based on the good skilling and well use of all sizes of Blasters and Armor Tanking, both against Serpentis activity and Capsuleer organizations that seek out nothing but to bring chaos in Syndicate;
2) Develop Intaki industry locally. And by that I mean REALLY manufacturing and researching things IN Intaki. Several people are currently engaged in that: to mention some examples, the Intaki Liberation Front has tried to build up a trade hub in the Astral Mining Station outside Intaki Prime, an idea that is currently being explored by everyone bringing wealth and development to Intaki; the Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive has recently engaged in an economic war against the Serpentis focused, for now, mainly on chemical drugs production and distribution; [ITAKI] is creating a mass production of Robotics to fill the market with those high value goods, as well as the distribution of several blue prints and schematics ranging from ship equipment to battleships IN Intaki.
Think about this Tiberius. Because those are the actual Intaki way we need.
Vechtor [ITAKI] President
