I'm a old player returning after a long time away, since my return I've been solo running L4's and would like to run complexes along with my L4's just when I'm fed up with mission running and need some thing else
I've been reading posts here and trying to get my finger around exploration and I'm starting at High-Sec Complex just to learn the ropes, as they say, but can't seem to figure out a good fit and/or ship to pick.
I'm flying mainly Raven-CNR-Drake-Tengu(To name ships that I own), can anyone give me some fitting advice for any of those ships or an advice on a ship that would be better fit for High-Sec Plexing.

High sec plexing is nothing harder than lvl 3 missions. A Drake is more than enough. It even has so many mids u can fit that codebreaker and/or analyser + that probe launcher on it cuz u have 7 heavy launchers and 8 highs.
Un less its for practice to go into WH, low sec or null sec Plexes, dont expect any real ISK gain from that. Its a nice change from grinding missions tho :D |

You might get a occasional nice bit of loot from 3/10s, but I don't think it will be worth your time. I'd recommend looking for 4 or 5/10s (or equivalent unrated ones) in low sec, although beware of gankers. |

Great, thanks, will be setting up a Drake fit and go looking for something fun
Since you both say that low nad null sec would be more lucrative, obviously , I doubt a Drake would do well there considering gankers and such, any recomendations for the eventual next move to low sec, I know Tengu is the big talk but It is a bit expencive and would be fun to hear of other ships that are good at low sec Plexing, don't need to be Caldari missile boats "..I would rather die a thousand times in this Dystopian heaven. This comes from extensive personal experience on the subject
Just beware the dirty gates, gate camps, smartbombers, pvp probing alts, roaming gangs, large null alliance lowsec tour fleets etc. i make videos about internet spaceships click to watch: http://www.youtube.com/JonnyPew

It is tempting and after a few high sec runs I will be dearing my self to go explore low sec, and if I loose my Tengu(wich I most likely someday will) I'll be mad as hell, tip my hat to who ever bested me and move on
I don't suposed you have any Tengu exploration fits? "..I would rather die a thousand times in this Dystopian heaven. Than live one minute in your utopia." |

Also keep in mind the majority of high sec complexes are restricted to cruiser down, which knocks the drake out. |

I do plexing both in null and high sec and have some good experience with it. I see most people fly around in t3 cruisers to do them, and yes, that works quite well. For high sec plexing i currently use a Gila with drone damage amplifiers which has more then enough tank to run Angels 3/10 and 4/10's and the vigil and watch non-DED plexes I also did most of the others, but i found Angels to be most profitable, since Minmatar space is not so crowded as Caldari space and the rats in Amarr and Gallente space drop crap lewt, so you want to avoid those.
You would only have to watch out in the Blood raiders 4/10 since there is a lot of neuting going on, but the others are easily done in HAC's (Ishtar also shines here!) T3's and faction cruisers like the Gila. Battlecruisers might do well, but i see players in Battlecruisers always struggle. Apart from the drake that is
Best way to run plexes in high sec and to prevent people from stealing your plex is to make sure you run them FAST. So have a tank which can take full aggro and inmediately go for the objective. The angels (and Sansha and Serpentis) vigil and watch can be blitzed, so i surely recommend doing that and don't waste your time shooting worthless cruisers and frigs.
Null sec is a completely other ballgame, and you have the added bonus of protection of your own alliance (if they are big) and their intell channels, and your alliance mates wont steal your plex. And the drops can be massive. Like total worth up to 2 or 3 billion. Imagine a Gursistas Troop Reinvigararion dropping both the shield booster and the invul. Ohlala! |
