CCP, is the editing droning sound really necessary?

  I think I nailed it.

It's amazing what moving the shoulders around does for how you convey emotion.

Sure. Lights 1, 7 and 31 are intensely blue. You can also slide the intensity slider to the right to get more overall light, but it may wash it out a bit. The BEST WAY TO GET BLUE is to turn your character to their left. Then the blue light will hit more of their face.
  Here they are:
  Light 1:

Light 7 (classic Eve blue light)

  Light 31

Hey all. Just want to throw a few suggestions out there regarding the character creator. I'll be sure to be as direct and to the point as possible.
Something to keep in mind that creating our characters over again is going to be a fairly big deal. Some of us have been playing for eight years, and I'm certain some of us have grown incredibly fond of our characters. Re-creating our character should not be a halfass effort, because we are re-creating ourselves. It should take longer than five minutes to throw your new character together. Because of this, I propose the following:
Allow us to somehow save our progress/work while modeling, either locally or on the server. That way if we crash, have to leave, or something unexpected comes up we can save our work and come back later. I was working on my character for six hours when I was interrupted by "exefile has crashed." Fun, right? Now imagine if something totally random were to happen when this goes live, either on TQ or whatever. Not going to be another six hours you're going to want to spend getting back to it.
I know this is a minor thing, but I really want my character to convince me that I am pleased. I don't want to feel rushed or otherwise impaired. Please give us this option!

Probably been said a few times, but I'll give my pieces:

  1) Hair is very "thin." As in, 2D. Please fix. (Physics work great though!)
  2) Eyelashes are not customizable. Please fix/add.
  3) Eye SHAPE is not customizable. Please fix/add. Also, regarding eye SIZE, I don't have a big issue with this one, though some very minute changes should be allowed. Nothing over the top of course.
  4) Girls' pooch/stomach area is horribly inaccurate. Pooch should sit a little bit lower on the waist than it does, and the waistline should be allowed to go up/down as desired. Please add/fix.
  5) Related to 4, pants sit VERY LOW on the waist. The entire torso is incredibly long looking. Please fix!
  6) Scale-wise, we are all the same size. Are you going to add a way for us to change our physical size? Please add!
  7) Facial construction is great, but eyebrows are lost in translation. Please give us ways to arch our eyebrows intuitively. Please add!
  8) We have no way to change the shape of our head. We can change the face and the jaw, but not the head. Please give us a way to adjust our craniums! Please add!
  9) Eyes are beautiful, but they move a lot during character creation and photo shoots. During character creation I think that's really cool looking, and even draws me in, but during a photo shoot I want my character to look where I tell them too. Please fix!
  10) The overall animation of the character during creation should be togglable, but I don't seem to have any issue with this personally. Please fix/add!
  11) Not enough lipstick shades, in my opinion. Please fix!
  12) The butt area is odd here. I have noticed particular issues modeling an accurate rump, but I got it down alright. Maybe letting us scale the butt itself would be ideal here. Please fix!
  13) Regarding the breasts, a couple things. First, the bra is .. hideous. Please make it more attractive. Second, the breasts do not look natural at all in any configuration. They should roll gently to the sides from the center of the chest and sit with the nipple facing forward. What we have currently has them erupting from above their chest area and just kind of making a cylinder straight down. They kind of come forward but not a lot. Finally, it has been fixed to some degree, but shirts still do not stretch across the cleavage. They still form-fit to the skin like latex to a certain extent. Please give us that stretch! Please fix!
  14) Uncanny valley reached with the mouth. The mouth is ALMOST PLAUSIBLE, but there are a myriad of things that looks unnatural. First, the teeth are slacked in a closed mouth, and not together when you open the mouth. Smiling is only done well with showing the top teeth, rather than a full-mouth smile. Boo :P Additionally, when you smile, we should not have to adjust the eyes ourselves. Eyes naturally lift at the edges and squint slightly, because smiling uses a lot of facial muscles that effect the entire face. Lastly, let us open our mouths more than we currently can. We cannot convey certain emotions with this half open mouth. Please fix/add/make awesome!

  Thanks!

Joshua - Yes, I modelled the butt and the breasts just fine (go go T&A!) but it didn't really come out.. great.
Have a look. (okay looks like I don't have a good butt shot, but I was able to get an acceptable rump anyway. I was just hoping for more pelvic configuration.)

I don't think the breasts look natural. It's actually probably the bra, but the way they sit on the chest looks like they came from two tubes at the top of the chest where the breast tissue begins.
  It looks really off.

Ugh, looking at a few pics that involve the shirt and breasts (now you have me fixated on it,) I notice the breasts cling to the shirt all the way up to where they connect to the sternum area.
DANG GUYS, that is NOT how shirts sit on people! There should be air between the following things:
  1) Cleavage. Unless you're wearing latex or some other incredibly form-fitting material, there should be empty space between the breasts.
  2) Breasts to shirt contact. The breasts shouldn't really EVER touch the shirt, but the shirt SHOULD touch the bra. Example **NSFW** here **NSFW**. Anyway, as you can see there, there is a gap between the breasts. What you can't see is that the shirt should go from the tip of the breast to the shoulder line. Boobs don't magically cling to the fabric, they stick to the chest. With that in mind
  PLEASE FIX.

I definitely think this should not be linked together, squinting the eyes can also convey sadness or many other emotions that are not connected to smiling. It also enables you to do asymmetric and more interesting expressions.
All expressions use max squinting and none of them smiling.
  Do not dumb it down.

But then we enter the problem of interconnected body parts working together (natural) vs seperate changes (uncanny valley.) If we allow ourselves to move things around, things look "off." We don't want that, do we?
For every action there is a equal or greater reaction. That applies especially to facial expressions.

But you shouldn't lock it down. Let the end user decide how he/she wants the final result to end up. I don't want to be limited just for conveniences sake.
Btw I think I got a decent smile out my Caldari Deteis female, I think she's very pretty.

+1, looks really great! Also, I agree with you. We should have the OPTION to make it "natural," or manual.
That I agree with. Options always \o/ Fixed not good! On a sidenote, I am almost certain CCP said they were going for realism. So... yeah. Not sure why that hasn't been implemented already.

Also, the teeth themselves look a bit too rounded. Perhaps we can get different types of teeth to choose from as well? (I'm sure some would prefer a bit more defined canines lol

We need to be able to edit craniums. Head shape is a major part of defining who somebody is. Without variety, everyone will look very similar. Also, we should have more control over a number of nuances, such as posture, stature, gait, hip sway, head bob and more to define who we are. If we keep the character creator the way it is, with people having a slightly redefined face within a number of parameters and small adjustments to the body, we are ALL GOING TO LOOK THE SAME. CCP, this is not good!
