I feel sorry for noobs who collectively loose billions cos the contract window is so confusing, making it ideal for scammers to have their way with unweary victims.
CCP stop helping the scammers by making the contract window more clear, instead of having "Cost" followed by the exorbitant scamming amount in red, which noobs dont realise that it'll cost THEM, and Not the sum they will receive,
Have instead "You will Pay" Or "Cost to you" , if you dont make the contract window clear, then YOUR HELPING THE SCAMMERS CCP!
(And if you're wondering, I've never fallen for those scams myself ) Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Spitfire |

loose? cos? unweary? realise?
My god man. My eyes hurt.
And the contracts do have a way of letting you know if you are getting money or losing it.
Red means you have to pay and green means you get paid. What do they need a map?

Trust me, most noobs dont take note of the colour of the sum, means nothing to them. They just notice the huge amount of isk and think theyre in the money, the contract window is confusing, was to me, and even now, I have to have a close look at it to make sure its not a scam. Noobs would have no idea what theyre doing if the contract window is unclear. Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona or content directly related to Eve Online. Contract is not hard to deal with. It also shows in BIG RED Fing numbers how much it will cost. If they can't work it out then quit EVE and play else where. Contract system has been improved 10x compared years back.

Stop accepting private item exchange contracts from. A lot of us get caught by it once. I myself once gave away a 700mil module and paid them 700m for the privilege, NEVER AGAIN! It was really lame too because I was selling the item on behalf of me and 3 other people.

You fell for the old "That's it, I'm quitting the game! You can have my money for 1 trit" scam, didn't ya? And then you wind up paying 100mil, instead of getting it. Just saw it pasted today in Jita local. You noob!
No need to rant at CCP, though. Next time, don't be so horny for cash that you'll click on anything that flashes by without reading first. Your own greed got the better of you. Learn from that. As the saying goes: save yourself, or remain for ever unsaved. --

Which noob has got billions? Or even just hundreds/tenth of millions? If they really make that much isk that fast today, then it won't hurt them that much, or?
Also, if the contract actually has money for the guy who looks at it, it clearly states.. Money Offered: blabla
And another hint for you. The Contract which actually costs money to get something states RIGHT BELOW THE Cost: blabla part, what is being offered.
Anyone who falls for this is just plain old STUPID and you can't save them all!
Next thing you demand is a 'real value' field for those WTB contracts, hu?

Because you're ranting and raving about it like a noob. :) Most folk who do that have been personally affected by the scam (but pretend to speak in name of other, unnamed noobs, or hypothetical friends).
If you're 8 months old, and not affected, then why suddenly get your panties in a twist? --

Whats wrong for standing up for "noob rights" and speaking up for them, you never know, may save a few from rage-quitting, and those saved may eventually become valuable members of the CSM Removed. Yeah sure.. I will rule for someone who uses 12 question marks in the title and who mostly writes silly questions on the forums.
Might wanna use 'eve-search' next time and use the appropriate forums: Skill Discussions - Discuss skills and training plans for your EVE character.

Harsh as it may sound, there's a certain kindness in letting noobs fall for certain things. Like getting scammed. Because they'll never make that same mistake twice. Much like losing a valuable ship, due to one's own fault, is a valuable lesson. Noobs will just have to learn restraint and how to read. You overly protect them from scam A, then tomorrow they'll just fall for the 1x tritanium for 1,000,000,000.00 ISK on the local market scam (presumably because it was listed as top-entry, and they couldn't be bothered to read). Or some other scam.
The loving thing to do, really, is to tell noobs to be vigilant, and to read, and to not be so stupid as to think people will just give them hundreds of millions of ISK for free. Teach them those skills, and you'll never have to protect them from getting scammed, ever again. --

No, I believe Tres was arguing that using 12 question marks does not make one's argument 12x better. Much like one or two exclamation marks generally suffice. --

The only "noobs" with "billions" are the ones who never figured out how to earn those billions the smart way, and thus never learned how the system works and the various methods by which they can be screwed over. They're usually the ones who are dumb enough and persistent enough to mine or grind missions 18 hours a day, or they're lazy enough to buy stacks of GTCs. Such noobs and their isk are soon parted, as nature intended. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

So because he doesn't like it, he must have been a victim? I rant about scams, never been scammed. I rant about gates, but have only twice in five years been killed at a gate. I rant about the margin trade problem, but have never fallen for it. I rant about how rats drop too much refinable loot, and I don't mine very much.
I don't mean to single you out Ranka, so much as pointing to this attitude on the forums how anyone who desires a change must be motivated by their own selfish interests or must be a "troll".
There are people out there that do see a problem and desire to see it fixed for no other reason than wanting to make the game better.
