Edited by: bolianavitchfantuleanpie on 19/12/2010 12:32:52 I was just at my pos listening to music like aerosmith when i thought.. why no pos modual to broadcast a radiostation thruout the system? i personaly think it would be great. you could select whatever songs you wanted and it would just constantly replay the setlist over and over, and anyone could tune in using the jukebox icon. or if you wanted only your alliance/corp listening you could put a standings lock on it.

i can see it now, the ultimate deathstar
a POS covered in warp scramblers and webs and a broadcast mod set to run a never ending loop of a rickroll
your enemies will SD their ships and pods just to get away from it

Edited by: David Lowell on 21/12/2010 01:29:37 what about copyright regulations? I mean if I am listening to Aerosmith via the in game jukebox its no different then me using itunes and alt-tabing.
Can a lawyer please step forward?
But generally... I like it. ---------------- Don't worry I'm sure this will work... |

I think it would be fun, but in all honestly that would robably just take up cpu and powergrid of something more important? What I don't get is why te jukebox doesn't just do this in general? I mean that thing stinks :P

Edited by: Karn Velora on 02/01/2011 05:57:48 Edited by: Karn Velora on 02/01/2011 05:55:36 Do it the easy way, the SL way... No radio. Just an HTTP address to a streaming mp3 playlist, and make the ingame mp3-player handle streaming. That way all the legal stuff ends up on the radio station, not EVE. We are home free.
If you want to set up a "radio" that just plays the sounds of garbage trucks on repeat, sweet. Or... just input the link to SOMA.FM's groove salad, and fill the system with chillout music to soothe the miners.
As a 100% client-side thing, it's even server friendly.
It would be neat to be able to use the ingame mp3 player to play regular mp3 streams - and if you stumble into a system with a specified station, you suddently get the local alliance news.
