It depends on the severity of the incoming loss, if it's high, then you have to bring the whole thing down, but if it's going to be a small loss, it's easier to just bring the node down. Or so I have seen.

Goon jnr's talking about bringing the server down?
Come on guys, know your history. Many many years ago Goons killed a baby titan by bringing the server down and logging in quicker than the other side.
I doubt IT nor goons even back then knew it was a master stroke, but now you have tears I call Goons the best players in eve! REALLY NO CRAP!

What, you mean the tactic that's been around since nullsec PVP started? Ever wonder why freighters can't jet cans into open space anymore? Or a thousand other lag causing reasons that CCP has deemed exploits or tactics that they just don't like? It is a tactic, but it is by no means new.

The fight was 10 - 20 mins before DT and the server was down for a hour instead of 30 mins :OMG SHOCKING:, <yawn> just once I would like Goons / Test to obsess about something that isnt IT related.
Is that really so much to ask?
