Was wondering if there are any good stabber set ups out there. I know it's a lower tier cruiser and thus a bit lacking perhaps but I was wondering if there is a good way to fit one and kind of use it as an over-sized frigate or something. A fit I was thinking of trying.
[Stabber, New Setup 1] Damage Control II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 400 Warp Disruptor II
Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Medium Rudimentary Energy Destabilizer I Medium Rudimentary Energy Destabilizer I
Medium Ancillary Current Router I Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
Crap damage, low hps, good speed and agi I guess. Went with nuets for close frigs and a cap booster to keep the MWD running at all costs. Suggestions?

Not a bad start.
I'd suggest downsizing the neuts to small, and going with 425mm ACs.
Drop the cap injector for a large shield extender, its still paper-thin but at least it is a few layers of paper.
Rigs I'd say shield rigs, so resists or CDFE, maybe a speed rig mixed in like polycarb.
And dont forget to bring your drone

Yep, thats a pretty adequate description for the Stabber.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was worried about the short range on the small neuts is that usually not an issue?

Neuts are to defend against frigates that get a scram on you, so they will typically be well within small neut range.

The guns won't track orbiting abbing friggies, you need to neut them then break transversal. Kinsy > deadman you there? Kinsy > are either of us in pods, becase we dont know...
Mostly harmless [ 2005.12.09 19:22:50 ] (notify) You have started trying to warp scramble the Dreadnought |

Why would you let them get on orbit in the first place? This thing can kite AB frigates without a problem. Why not fit a long range point and kite?

I fit mine something like this [Stabber, New Setup 1] Damage Control II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Large Shield Extender II Warp Disruptor II
Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, Barrage M Malkuth Heavy Missile Laucher, Malkuth Heavy Missile Laucher,Choose ammo on fight, Thunderbolt/Havoc
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I Medium Core Defense Field Extender I Medium Projectile Collision Accelerator I
Set orbit at around 18km and sit there until its dead or you have to get out. Almost took out a noob Cerberus with this, only if the stabber I was flying had rigs i could have killed it |

dont use a stabber (unless you want it for the lol factor)
buy a rupture and in the 2 extra low slot put a 2 nanofiber for a ship with more tank/gank of the stabber, better agility, 500ms slower.

Greetings:
Especially if you are solo, fast beats slow; so the Stabber is a great ship in that area.
I've found that the Dual 180's or the 220's do a lot better than the 425's in terms of being able to hit more often. I typically go with two tracking enhancers as well since that expands range as well as helps with hitting more often.
If you solo, I would recommend replacing the cap booster with a large shield extender. I typically don't perma the mwd as it explodes signatures (unless in an inty).
Thank you.

The ruptue with a shield fit and speed rigs is mostly just better than the stabber - better range, tracking, damage, a proper dronebay and a medium neut. Yeah the stabber is a bit faster but it doesn't make up for all the other stuff. So I'd really recommend flying that instead.
But you just like stabbers or want to fly something that'll get fights then go for it. It can pick up frigate kills just fine.

Stabbers are good fun as a vaga-lite tackler in small gangs, but they are pretty rubbish at solo work tbh, although a careful pilot can disengage more easily than most. Dps is pathetic. I tried one with assault launchers a few times but even top tier frigates were a danger to it. It was useful to disrupt enemy gangs with though, drawing lone frigate heros off gate camps. Trouble is, one successful scram and you're probably toast.

pfft, stabber is a very good platform. 220mm autocannons and speed, fit everything else what you want. Stabilizers, overdrives, DC, gyros, LSE whatever. Just get on the skin fast and have a buddy around :)
