I.E. You fire a spread of cruises at a target, you fire another spread, the first volley destroys the target, the second volley just flies off into the distance...
What happens to those missiles?
Given that there's nothing to slow them down, so even if they did run out of fuel, in a sense, they would keep flying.
Humor me here, since the obvious answers are that the game removes them like, say, bodies and corpses despawn after a while to avoid cluttering up the map and slowing down the game...or CCP couldn't put them in, for when some noob undocks his brand new shiny cruiser that he missioned for weeks to afford and suddenly it's obliterated by cruise missiles launched by missioning Ravens hundreds of kilometers away.
But yeah, what happens to those missiles?

So, Shura, remember that one time we were in Kuwait going on R&R, and I put a post on here talking about what if ships had individual shield facings, and individual systems could be targeted and disabled, and one dude was like "Congratulations, you've just re-created Star Trek Online", and then ten more people laughed at me, including you?
You've pretty much done the same.
You answered your own question, you idiot. They de-spawn. Don't know what else you were expecting, considering you also took the option of them remaining in flight and blowing up some hapless rookie off the table also.
You are right about one thing, though...posting stupid questions on the forums is sooo not the way to kill time going on/coming from R&R, you ask stupid ones like we did.
Oh and um...Merry Christmas. <3

Space goo is slowing them down and then they get absorbed by the space goo. support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

What, you want some sort of RP-friendly answer that goes on and on about how they magically fly off into space and have a life altering experience, then come to terms with their own sexuality and make peace with the launcher which shot them, yet the launcher never finds out and commits suicide for shooting it in the first place to no good purpose other than to fly off and be lost among the cosmos? Christ man...gay much?

What happens to the missiles that are left in flight when their target is destroyed...the launcher of said missiles goes on the forums and asks what happens to them, answers himself by saying "yes, I know they de-spawn", and in a fashion that only EVE's message boards can deliver, the post is consumed by well-deserved sarcasm and derision.
Enjoy Bagram while you can. Maybe you'll pick up your brain from the LNO while you're getting your body armor and helmet.

Next the GMs will be saying you're spamming the forums since you can't get online to terrorize Help chat, and they'll ban you from here, too.
Way to get Uncut noticed though..."why was i invited here? oh i know u! ur that dumbass who asked what happens to missiles that dont explode LOLOLOLOLOLOL bye"

Oh trust me, there's a good five people standing behind this desk wiping tears from their eyes. "How long has he been playing, again?" one asks.

the missiles are also equipped with a warpdrive, thats why it suffers drag in space, just like all capsule ships.
When it runs out of fuel, it initiates a warp drive with 0 align time, and warps to the nearest rat and goes into its inventory system.
That is why, sometimes, when a rat was attached by enough missiles, it will somehow drop 100 missile ammo despite not using missiles to shoot.
