I was curious as to why MWD's cannot be used in the majority of missions in EVE. Has anyone got a valid reason why its not possible? don't fear the reaper. Fear the guy that's gonna send you to Him |

This restriction is in the process of going away.

The reason why they couldn't initally stems back to the *really* early days when you could fit and run more than one MWD at a time for what I recall. Another 500% speed increase on top of 500% when stacking penalties didn't exist for anything but resists at that time, meant you'd go silly quick.
This wasn't allowed as it utterly broke missions if I recall correctly. Might be wrong though.
Now all that's gone, and with the nano nerf, CCP are finally getting around to allowing MWD's in missions again. --------------------------------- Go Web! Go! |

Apparently they don't think lowsec missioning is dead enough yet. Soon, you can burn on top of the carebear from gate 500% faster.

Highly related. Distance to gate at mission is a major safety factor for low/null mission, second only to number of jumps from agent. If you've ever ran low/null missions you'd know that.

Because people who bust low sec missions would never ever think of using an Arazu with an overloaded disruptor.

They also would never camp the gate you are using to get into lowsec in the first place, or probe your BS down before you even got 10km from the drop-in point.
Allowing MWDs in missions is a huge step to make lowsec mission running safer from ganks, not only because it allows you to use the MWD-cloak exploit trick maneuver.

I'm not going to say you're wrong, because I've lost a few kills because of this. It's also the only reason why my alt can fly an Arazu.
However, I've never met an experienced mission bear that has stuck around to kill rats once probes are scannable. Allowing mwd in deadspace only hurts the lazy ones, and I think that's a good thing.
