Well-- from talking to him earlier, it sounded like that was "the entire human race." He seemed to cast himself as some sort of machine-worshipper. Or maybe just machine-sympathizer, if machines have any use for sympathy.

Eh, being hunted is just fun, if you have the guts to stick by your conviction. Nothing quite like having your enemies come to you instead of having to chase them down all the time. Still, too bad he didn't last longer, though. I'm sure there would have been some quite entertaining crying if he had.

It's a life not everybody is cut out for, I guess. A fair percentage of industrialists are known to panic when danger comes calling.
Of course, I'm just speculating in this particular case. His reference to Jesmine (I presume he meant her, rather than Jasmine Constantine) in his related thread seemed likely to rise from her menacing promise to "see him soon," so ... yes, it looks a great deal like our scientific explorer of very violent things and very violent people is very afraid of violence.
