Obsession Paranoia	Posted - 2010.12.27 13:27:00 - [1] Given than with pretty good missile support skills you're at 25-28km away, I'm just being shredded by everything. Can't even take out single ships before being shot to armor and having to warp out. Is this whole Torp Raven just stupid, and go with Cruise sniping?

I personally go cruise all the way, i cant stand seeing enemies at 50km+ and not be able to hit them.

Torp to 5 isn't long, torp spec is rank 8, but only needs rank 1 for T2 launchers.

Get it to level 4 if you can afford to spare it and the ship will max out at about 750 DPS, not too shabby for a t1 Battleship. if you're feeling dangerous, throw in 3 sentry drones (t2) and watch your DPS soar closer to 800-900 range. Keep in mind, this might be a bad idea if you get scrammed by a frigate.

Shorter flight times that are more in synch with TP cycles for less than %1 range loss over the thruster + fuel rigs. Considering my Drake has 190dps, even with low skills, the ravena and torps is a huge improvement, just need the range upped.
Sean Faust Gallente Point of No Return Waterboard	Posted - 2010.12.27 16:14:00 - [9] The only ship that can use torps viably in missions is the Golem. For everything else, you have to use Cruise. The Raven does not have the tank to be able to get up close and personal with those ships, and it doesn't have the Golem's bonuses to TP and Torp Explosion Velocity. Without those two things you wouldn't hit for much anyway. This is also why Golem > CNR (unless you keep getting sent up against Guristas/Caldari and Blood/Amarr NPCs that like to orbit you from outside of the range of Torps.

Never forget to jettison 1 Torp and Orbit it at full speed and 1 KM. Then you avoid a bit of the damage thrown. I like the setup. Have Rigs for Torp Speed and Torp Flight Duration installed and maxed out support skills. Why fly away from the battle if you can be the center of it :-)

He's likely got a CNR instead of plain Raven. I had both Torp fit CNR and Cruise fit CNR. Torp is only better than cruise on CNR in a few cases and in most others, the cruise is better. Sexorella hotz SexyCor	Posted - 2011.01.06 18:37:00 - [15] My solution, get an alt with a basilisk, then you can speed/range fit your Raven, with 4 meds used for hardeners and a target painter(for torps you'll need it). With this you can agro whole room when you get in(use painter for this) so that everything gets in range. Use t2 torps as needed to hit longer range rats, but for most things can use t1. Also helps to put shield transfers on Raven to protect basi from errant agro, and have an energy transfer or two on basi to keep raven cap stable. Sucks cause you need another pilot, and there are probably better two pilot combinations one can use, but my alt is logistics/industry heavy so it works out.
