Fyi, if there's an orca tied up against some macks, they aren't macro's. Someone working from home doing homework or whatever. I've never heard of a macro that can operate a Orca. Of course I wouldn't put it past them to figure this out but as far as I know this statement has been accurate for years. It was something about transfer mechanisms and opening corp hangars that created an issue for the macro writers. So if you pop a guy with an orca and macks/hulks - you didn't pop a macro.
For the purposes of the event, my understanding it's all fair game so if he's dumb enough to be out there, get the KM.

well if you can code stuff like mining and others you certainly could write interacting bots and jetcan mining.. orca would be an option because of the boost too.

This pleases me greatly.
You lack a lot of love. I am only giving you what you need and by pointing you into the right direction do I reduce the number of headless chickens on the event. Do not be mistaken, it still is a "jerk festival" to me where a lot of good players get ganked for no good reason. --

Santola. On the rare occasion that my mining alt actually mines these days, I can clear out a belt in a few hours and then watch at least a dozen different hulks warp in, idle for 10 minutes, then warp off to dock. I'm in the process of putting away my industrials for the duration of 'geddon as I write this. I'd love to see Santola empty of the macros for a while.

A "macro miner" just types the same keys as when you are manual mining. It saves wear and tear on your mouse/keyboard.
Haven't any of you used a "macro" in Word/Access/Excel?
So what's all the opposition to the use of "macros" or is it boredom of the less imaginitive? Bloody Luddites!

Of all the posts and the ice belts in Seil have not made the list yet????
There is at least one if not two corps dedicated to ice mining there. Macros? Maybe. They fly like macros and mine like macros for long durations daily but there are plenty of ships to pad your kill mails.

I've knocked over multiple Hulks in Kaaputenen, which is a 0.8 system. Did it with a Brutix too so it's not like it was just a one-shot kill. The Hulks are cheap-fit and have little or no protection. The pilots seem completely oblivious. This applies to both NPC and player corp pilots in that system.
So far, only one Hulk out of eight (thus far) that I've killed has had an active pilot at the controls.

Ive been hanging out around the systems "Masalle" and "Stacmon" and ive seen quite a few mining ships still around here mining, hulks and a few retrievers and even seen a Fenrir (spelling?) hanging around Masa!
There seems to be no gankers in these areas which is why there are so many mining, its kinda a "safe spot"......a few gankers around here could really clean up :)

How do you determine that someone is a macro miner? I'm a miner and that is why I'm curious.
My normal mining configuration is 2-3 Hulks, an Orca and an industrial. I'm assuming that I will not be mistaken for a macro miner because the industrial is constantly on the move, however, my Orca hauler pilot will come out of the oven on Tuesday, so less movement.
One thing that really makes me curious is that I have to constantly switch rocks. It seems that the ones I mine are never very big in Hi Sec. (Not like one of the Spodzillas in 0.0 anyway.) If the turrets aren't firing, I'm losing money. It's difficult for me to imagine anyone writing a macro that would work with anything but Veldspar, which I never mine, or ice, but I suppose it's possible. Is this taken into consideration?
Another thing I do that I've only seen one other miner do is that my ships are all in almost constant movement. I traverse the belts at around 9 meters per second so that I always have fresh rocks coming into range.
On a scale of 0-100%, what do you think my chances are of being identified as a macro miner?
