I've been looking for a new mission boat and liked the look and dmg of the Legion, plus the fact that you can swap between lasors and missiles with different sub's made it seem like a very nice mission boat. It gets similar if not better dps than a Tengu and I'm rather tired of the old CNR/Golem/Tengu war and I've always liked using different mission boats then those 3. I could always swap lasors for missiles and vice-versa via changing the sub's so it would seem pretty effective. I'm currently running missions for Caldari navy right now. Was just wonder what you guys thought about.

I use to run LVL4s in a Legion and it's a lot of fun to fly. But, IMHO, you should turn down any drone mission unless you're VERY careful at controlling agro. Also fit a webbifier just in case a tackling frigate / drone gets too close.

yeah a ham legion can give some nice dps but the range is pony! You can fit heavy missiles but you get no help from the subs bonus's. Tbh stick with a tengu

Edited by: 3v3 Online on 30/12/2010 14:15:54 yea, drone missions always seem to have a lot of webbing and I can bring alternate ships for those, as for the range, 20km is a lot combined with going 700m/s you'll get in range pretty fast, and once your in range, you'll always be in range

Strange. I always thought of my legion as being one of the best ships for rogue drone missions. Right damage types, right resist profile...

I always had the impression that the Pulse Legion works better for killing (low security) DED 6/10s and annexes than doing L4s; the rats are conveniently located within Scorch range, and you can always get up close to melt them with the mighty Conflagration. Now Navy Multies are only for backup in case Conflagration runs out. (+17.5% effective DPS against Angels over Navy Multies, thanks CCP )
I can't say that for some L4s that make you travel more than 50km just to hit the rats. (Sanshas Blockade, Worlds Collide, Serpentis Extravagenza, etc etc) Perhaps I should use Beams for that, but I didn't do any L4s for about a year (except for helping some guy killing Rachen Misuna, and that was probably the last).
I thought of using the HAM Legion for odd damage types, but I was bothered with the lack of drones to kill the frigates and the rather large explosion radius of HAMs(that is not affected by rigors or GMP). But once again, I didn't use HAMs before, so maybe that's just my prerogative. I'll see how others think.

If you can maintain range, and kill everything, then the Legion will work just fine for drone missions. Just don't try to blitz them and agro every pocket. Been there, done that, 8 drones that could warp scramble and web got under my guns (stayed at 1.2 KM range) and I had to re-train a strategic cruiser skill

not too bad, I just think other ships can blitz them faster.
