It's profile is almost an exact copy of a thorax alright. It's one of the suckier contestants in the semi-finalists this time, since it is basicly just a copy of an existing ship, but I'm more disapointed in the fact that CCP art team can't recognise a ship from their own existing ship lineup. Or maybe they like the design so much, they want multiple copies of it in the game. Maybe we can get a different reskinned version of it for each race.

I didnt make it but then again Im amature and self taught/teaching so I didnt expect to make it even in the top 50 probably as some of these I have seen reused from the DA contest and there where easily a good 100 uber awsome entries scattered across the myraid sea of other entries. Its not like there is already a pre-existing method for voting that has been used for two years which allows only people who have active non trial eve accounts to vote. No, if there were a system like that already in place, I'm sure CCP wouldn't make the decision to intentionally **** on the players by instead using a third party site that some players refuse to sign up for, because of any number of legitimate reasons.

So, instead of voting on a another contest ( still no news as to when the last one gets put in game?) why not just hire some of these guys and give the game a much needed face-lift. Or the cheaper option is declare them all winners, send em' all some swag and get these and some from the last competition in the bloody game. Sick and tired of waiting for change damn it! War on lag, phased release of incursions, 4 years or so for incarna and on and on. It's been a long day. /rant

GRANTED there are a ton more that were on DA that should be in this one, but you know I can understand it's very hard to make a decision on a lot of these ships. So as for my other thoughts on ships. Serveral - nice Prometis - interesting concept not your standard gallente cruiser for aesthetics but still a nice design. Stalker - I would love to see this rendered or shaded with colors but a nice design and a good start. Ore Porpise - hehe vertical ore ships. the design to me is herm, well vertical for ore ships doesnt really fit their scheme imo. however I do like the concept of this ship and would like to see in action.

You haven't seen the Eve art book I assume, it had renders of the 2-4 million+poly models, (that's how you get a normal map) They look much MUCH better than the ships currently in game. But a game can't handle all that detail. You'd be surprised how much detail gets lost from concept to finish design, kill a wing there, strip a blot here, get it down to 3000 polys. so form painting to model it changes, but still looks good at 2 million polys. Then from 2 million to 3000, you lose something, and it's sad but that's how video games are right now.

It was one of my favs from the first contest. I found it cool looking with a flawless render. While it had rediculus stats on the first try he removed them now making the ship one of the most fitting ones again. I'm just a little sad its only a frig and not a cruiser. Why the Prometis? I'm not a real Gallente pilot myself but i think they couls use some love too. Like the Mentor the ship has a pretty unique look but still fits flawlessly into the gallente line. I am not sure about the Nano hybrid/missile stuff since it sounds a lot like a cynabal ripoff. Why the Mentor? It looks like no other amarrian vessel but its design fits flawlessly. In colorless it might remind a bit to homeworld but the "ingame" shots are pretty unique imho. Why not the peregrine? Imho it has no real caldari look which snips it our of the bucket for me. If we would run a vote for Freespace 2, i'd vote for it since it looks pretty much fitting into that. I would like to have Strategic BCs and BS' but a T3 BC for a single race? I would like to see results pre 2012. And there is the Curate ... sadly that deviant took the worst ship of his drawings as an entry. It looks like it tries to be a sexy angel ship, just on the ugly side. I totally like the ships shown in the "Other Amarrian Vessel Designs" parts and most likely would have voted for one of them. I really wouldnt know who i would give my vote but thanks to CCP i dont need to decide. Facebook is easily the most ******ed thing out there and i'm not going to join the brainless bunch of idiots.
