So I decided to have a bit a laugh and crank out a few design for the comp before its deadline. I followed their rules for submission and used their template, so to put it in context I had designed my own images placed them on their templates and submitted them on the right sized canvas at the right dpi with an accompanying correctly scaled thumbnail, of designs that as an eve player I felt were fun and aside from one of said design, felt they would be rather unique and that's kinda what the comp is about, no?!
so I hear nothing, nor can I find my submissions anywhere to check and then the designs go live and I'm not kidding, aside from a very select handful, the rest make me want to punch myself in the face... they are just awful, full text tees without a scrap of typographic knowledge are to be burned at the stake. Sure to many here, the designs that I created may not be to their liking but they are on context and I would personally consider them to be more skillfully crafted than the majority but I'm not here to grieve for my wounded illustratory pride, oh no!
You see I emailed them to ask if they even received my submissions, not for my conceited nature but because I was honestly boggled as to if they had or not, after two days I receieve a reply that stipulated... "we weren't able to approve them for voting for one reason or another"...
WTF is that!!! they had rules set out so surely if I had breached one they could have said, you had infracted upon this rule and thus were disqualified but no! they also had a scoring system where they would assign 50 points for creativity and EVE devs would score 50 points for context and so long as you scored 70 or above you'd go through to voting but as they didn't come back saying that I had scored under this target but rather "for one reason or another", I mean seriously did they just miss half the fffffuuuuuuuu entries... how many other people submitted and were used as supplementary digital toilet paper. I don't think I'd mind so much if all the designs were awesome but they just aren't and I don't mean to insult the work of others but I'm sure that if you have a gander you'd be hard pressed to like many.
So any ways I wanted to spill some emo tears but I also wanted to see what you guys, they guys who play eve, thought not only about the designs that are up for voting but what you thought of the doodles I threw together.
