I've been in the game for a little over a year doing mostly PvE type things and would like to steer more toward the PvP aspect of the game. I recently made a foray into Amamake solo, but as one could imagine that did not go so well. Woeful inexperience vs 6 people who know what they're doing = one less Harbinger in the universe.
I've played various PvP games in the past, Shadowbane, Dark Age, Darkfall, etc... and have always preferred that to being a pixel assassin. I catch on pretty quickly and tend to be self-sufficient in games, though I do have a lot to learn in this game. I don't get emo with losing.
I'm located in the EST time zone and am able to get on several times a week, though life does get busy at times (GF, job, etc..). I believe I would prefer to try living in nullsec, sort of trial by fire I guess.

My Harbinger loss also appears on the BC killboard if anyone is so inclined, though there's nothing really spectacular about it obviously.

Arianna, you sound like Unchained Potential could be a good fit for you. We have a C3 with a static high sec exit that is frequently around Jita. We do frequent PvP roams through low sec as well as raid wormholes as they open up in or around our own.
The hole has good ore and Orca support is easy to find within the corp.
UP is a tight knit group of players who are laid back and yet aggressively expanding.
