If you are a pvper of 0.0 sec holder you have generally been in those small 10 vs 10 fights that are awesome and really fun . however when fights get bigger a problem happens. that fun battle turns into a who can bring the largest number of Logi class ships and all other tactics go out the window cause this is currently the most effective way things work so says the FC.
My idea is simple a complete change in the functionality of how logis operate , the logistics platform no longer flys near its fleet bombarding them with nanite soup. instead they must find a place off grid and deploy into a repair hanger.
Once deployed the logi cant move but gains new ability's. and injured ship may approach the logi and click "dock" while with in 2500M. when this happens a Scaffold of sorts appears around the "docking" ship locking it in place. at this time all HP bars are rapidly restored to 100% and heat damage to module is repaired ( as this new system uses repair bots like that are found in stations so they don't need paste). once repaired the scaffold retracts and the ship departs to enter the battle again.
With this sort of setup ships have to think tacticaly again and pull out should they take to much damage.
I also note that sice this is a large change idea there will be lots of flames, as such if you did bring a flame thrower at least suggest another way to remove the Requirment of having logis in large fights

orca providing access to the refitting service, get can repair modules in Giant Secure Cans for ships to equip, repair them selves and then refit the old modules and place the repairing modules back in the container.
That is what I do at a Mining POS with a Rorqual boosting in side a POS, as the Hulks/Retrievers take Severe damage from Rats or Pirates because the Guards didn't shoot down the aggressor fast enough.

The logis would be tactically left in station, because the fleet would know it was likely they would be tactically bubbled and then have to stay on grid and fight it out. then the logis would be entirely useless. Since ECM is useless at large scales due to lack of a platform that preforms anywhere near as well as the falcon of long ago, fleets would now be entirely Damage based. that would reduce it to who can primary targets faster. this would further weaken the already less than stellar game-play of large fights, and hurt the ability of smaller fleets to take on larger but less organized ones. This would also have a large effect on sov warfare (i-hubs, outpost, SC and Titan production/moon goo POSes). i don't see making the poor logis total helpless (no moving, no RR, no nothin') for hours is a good idea.
also what do you do with T3s, tech 1 logi ships, RRBS, and the big question Carriers. what about triage modules, which already do the immobile thing to a carrier. its not like the carrier needs a nerf or redesign (remember when the oversize carrier called MOMs got a redesign by CCP? didn't that work out well?).

key points i pulled from your post "s666ss666ss666"
1 logis left at a station/pos due to there imobility
2 what about all the other logistical ships such as none standard logi platforms and are bulging buddy the carrier and SC
3 this would make the fleet fight simply about who can primary faster
for (1) logis of decent size could be given a POS like bubble with its working to be worked out later that said players would have to pick good locations to deploy , and unlike siege mode you can pack up at any time your not stuck there for 10 minutes
For (2) i would go with a bigger is better approach , IE the t1 logis can only help 1 or 2 ships at a time even with maxed skills while the carrier and its bigger bro could effect repairs on 10-20 ships respectively.
For (3) I'm not seeing the problem here, i play a lot of games RTS and FPS and I'm sorry to say but the best way to take out your opponent is to focus fire on single targets and make sure there gone. that said the current reasoning in eve to do this is in fact to deal more damage than the logis can heal

(1) Why not just make a rep mod for a POS.
(2) T1,T2, Carrier, and "Big Bro" only usually rep 1 to 2 ships at a time anyway....
(3) Your removing a tactical option so all must follow your tactical preference. You wouldn't be making people think tactically as your original post said. What about BC2, or Starcraft. You get some medics there and the sustain your force, just like a logistics ship.
You should take the time used on fighting established game mechanics to find counters to logi. There's a lot more than whaling away at guardians to break the logi backbone. I am all for change when it make sense, but sometimes you just gotta think outside the box rather than fight the system.

I don't suppose it's of much concern to those of the pvp persuasion but... remove logis, and we can kiss the level 5 missions goodbye I think. Remote everything seems to be the standard way of dealing with them. Without remote thins and remote that... much of the game needs to be redesigned.
Actually, I'm pretty sure this would annoy your carriers to no end too... they'd lose the last option to repair their drones in space.

Removal of the Logistics as they are now and replacing them with something like you propose would hurt the underdog more than anything: most people who have success despite lower numbers rely on competent logistics pilots. Not to mention this would remove most if not all strategy and fleet composition setups that can make large fleet engagements fun, leaving only: drivebys, lock f1f2f3 and bombing runs.
Now I agree that without the AoE doomsdays threatening them the Logistics as force multipliers might be over the top when fielded in large numbers, but your suggestion is ridiculously short-sighted.

Absolutely not. I like the implementation of logistics as it is. Thumbs down.

ok good points
What would youg guys think if logis where mearly enhanced with this new functionality rather than replaced.
Ie your logis can spray its specific repair type on grid as it is now or you can set up at X location with the above idea. at least giving players a choice of a slower but direct repair, or a i need to get to it but full body work job off grid from the battle
