Just noticed on the map that Kisogo, a 1.0 system (according to the map) on the forge has 49 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Anybody know what's up there? I'm curious but don't have time to go check it out. |

Lots of high security starter systems are like that. I think it's mostly noobs logging in and shooting at people or sentry guns or whatever and getting their ibises blown up.

It's a default starter system, so it gets HUGE traffic.
So 49 deaths in 24 hours isn't much when you consider the volume of n00bs and whatever else that is there constantly.

That's why every newbie starts with a crap cruiser and is only given one gun. Wouldn't want them to hurt thmselves. :)

The ships destroyed statistic counts ships destroyed by a number of different factors: Player piracy, Corporate Wars, CONCORD Swat teams, losses to NPC pirates etc. Accordingly it can be a bit hard to draw any particular conclusions from it.
The Pod kills statistic is more clear since neither CONCORD nor NPC Pirates have developed a taste for Soft Squishy Pods FlambÚ; except through late splash damage. So any high concentration is going to be player action driven; most likely 'Pirate' blockades.

This was due mainly due to me and my corp losing 6 moas and several frigates while trying to fight the training drones there..
It was a close and exiting fight though

Yup. Ship kills don't mean much. Pod kills are everything.
Most likely 48 of those 49 deaths were n00bs suiciding in 1-on-1 Velator vs. Station battles. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |

Mr Blonde, if CCP puts the code in to allow it, can I put that picture (little teddy bear with knife) on the side of my ship?
I am very serious here.

That is not a teddy bear, its Hello Kitty.. and for this blatant insult against her she and her evil friends will now drag you into a back alley to violate you repeatedly. __________________________________________

"violate you repeatedly"
That sounds like fun! Can I video tape and sell it on the net? I will give you part of the profits.

I didn't think the NPC elements (concord, turrets, pirates) killed pods? Isn't that where the "Death" stat comes from?
And, if so, why isn't the sector under marshal law by now :>)

Blinder, I think by "deaths" the original poster was referring to ship kills, and not pod kills.
I have not seen more than 30-40 pod kills in any system in days, with the exception of the m0o Blockade Of The Day, which is always .4 and below.
As said before - Ship kills can be caused by NPCs. Most likely by cops reacting to people taking on a station with their civilian electron blaster. ---------------- Blue Screen of Death CEO Exodus Enterprises |
