When creating a petition why does our client freeze up until we get the message: "Petition has been created successfully."
Anyone ever wondered about this?

Most likely has to do with your client sending the petition to the gameserver which then forwards the information to the support server. This sort of delay happens anytime information is routed through a proxy before reaching it's destination.
If the game immediately assumed the petition went through successfully(without waiting to see if the support server accepts it), then the game would sometimes lie to you and your petition wouldn't really go through. Goes with having independent systems which is a good thing.
There is no sane argument for the game to completely lock up and waiting for a response on the information sent to the server..
So yeah, might even warrant a bug report.
And if the response doesn't look right you might want to set the CSM in action via the Assembly Hall & a proposal. support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

i noticed the same, tbh i thought it was the client collecting machine specific information (dxdiag or something) to send with the petition in case the problem is on your machine... but then again, the GMs seem to ask for this in response to the petition in the first place
tbh the client could to with some minor threading....

It's to give you time to log in your GM account to deal with your own petition favourably.

Top tip of the day: Avoid lag induced by creating a petition by not creating a petition in the first place. The outcome will be the same, but with less lag.
