As a Tech 2 ship producer, what do you find is the hardest part in manufacturing Tech 2 ships?
1) Production Skill/time? 2) Playing Salesmen? 3) Gathering all the Tech 2 comps you need daily/weekly? 4) Other?
Please respond as honestly, and in as much detail as possible....

I produce anathema covert ops frigate. Because it's an elite frigate and the component requirements are low (in comparison to many other ships) I find it pretty easy to keep manufacture bubbling along.
The only real problems i have are finding reactors which are not at a rip off price and recently morphite has been a bit of a concearn too. I try to be fair to customers and reduce prices when cheap components are available. There was an initial drop of prices after exodus but lately i have found prices to be steadily increasing so don't expect any more immediate price reductions.
Production i have no worries over, as i doubt demand will ever outstrip production (although it would be a nice problem to have). Also playing salesman is not a problem. I just place a few occasional adverts on the sales channel in game and on the forum.

Ah mistress... I still see you at it :)
My entire trading career has been bet on a single assumption: "T2 producers find it too hard to get the comps they need without too much hassle and cost"
Anylize that phrase enough and you can come up with some very interesting business scenarios
Don't forget that not all t2 producers are alike: they don't have the same prints and not all of em have business brains.
Categorize them by those two facts and you come out with even better results

Keeping t2 comps in stock was a problem, but lately they have become much easier to get. I could still see it being very annoying to major producers.

Finding a trader who is willing to train cruiser l5 is a problem. Atm our traders are able to supply enough T2 components for the current ship orders (especialy for the assault cruisers with their long production time).

I have to answer with 4) Other. Mining and NPC hunting to get isk to buy the next cool tech 2 bpo.
I set up large buy orders and wait until I have enough components to build 30 to 50 intercepters at at a time. Then they sell at about 5 per week so I only have to get my alts to fly around in indies once every two months. Of course I am sure not all builders can keep 0.5B in inventory and have another 1B in buy orders outstanding, but that is how I do it to minimize time of chasing down components when I feel like building.
Right now i am experimenting with building the tech 2 components (buying advanced reactions). I am not sure if it is a winner for me because of how slowly the components build. Takes 40*8 minutes to build the thrusters needed for one ship so the rate is so slow it is a good thing to do when I know I will be afk. But I can see it being a good way of holding my factory slots until I am ready for the ship building. Been easy enough so far just set up reasonable priced buys and the advanced reactions showed on my doorstep by the indy load.
Lastly, I have been really lazy and not spent much time on selling other then using the market - it works fine just you spend some isk on broker fees and taxes. Gonna give selling a try with offering combat ready package deals in the future (one stop shopping). Just aquired a tech 2 weapon bpo that matches the ship I am selling to make this economically possible.

Actually my main problem is that running max 6 factory slots per char is simply too less ;)
/me wants advanced industry skills =)
But getting reactors delivered to your doorstep helps a bit too. Can only recommend Black Lotus Clan's services ..

As a Tech 2 ship producer, I find the hardest part in manufacturing Tech 2 ships is keeping up with the demand.. and I am not even advertising.. I just put them on the market in Essence region only. *cough*Enyo*cough*
Right now there is 0 of the ships on the market and still like 30 in line to get done manufactured... The BPO is runnning hot by now... I use lots of Ice ore to cool it down.

For me, it's option 4 - finding the BPCs I want. Components aren't really a problem for me since I don't produce in any great quantity, due to the lack of availability - particularly looking for Harpy or Enyo BPCs, if anyone's BPO is dormant for a while...
