So i'm sitting in nonni bored & an idea comes to me, I wanna buy a scorp and jam some peeps. So's I check the market and what do i see? 90m wtf? Log an alt in yulai, 90m again!
Are ppl getting greedy or has there been a natural disaster in the crok fields or somethin? Arn't the mining types pulling in billions of isk in minerals in their uber mining barges and dropping prices through the roof?
Please enlighten this old fool!

There's been a fairly solid rise in mineral prices over the last few months. More value to the minerals makes a higher value to the stuff built from minerals. -D

Yes, post-exodus you have to work harder for the same amount of gaming power. This is a consequence of the changes to the market system (and the insane new policies for NPC orders). In depth discussion:

I am once again going to say I TOLD YOU SO in capital letter. But nobody listened to me and complained in time to CCP so now SUFFFFFER.

Don't forget that the eve economy is rather prone to inflationary pressures too.
Rising mineral prices seem to be the main factor, but the fact that people seem to be wealthier on the whole is unescapable.
With all the tech2 ships and other such money sinks I'm wondering if eve inflation is going to slow down a bit.

Mineral prices have gone through the roof, almost to the point where ive stoped making Battleships, its not just the High end minerals, ALL minerals have gone up, and mex for example has become rare in high volumes. this additional cost is transfered onto the consumer
Producers have to tavel further to get thier minerals, this "cost" is transfered onto the consumer.
eventually minerals will start to drop again, when the market floods with minerals people mine, because they cant afford to risk their ships. be patient grasshopper

Afaik there is some insane NPC buy orders out there for example Mex, that makes it scarse. I dont see the point in NPC demand/supply for minerals tbh.

Well, I can kinda see that Mex gets bought up by NPC corps. Mining plagio has been pretty much a waste of time up until now. With NPC's buying Mex, it value will obviously increase. It's CCP's way of controlling the minimum prizes of minerals.
I too have trouble acquiring both Mex and Nocx lately. I can get all my trit, pye and iso through buy orders, but have to actually go buy Nocx if I need it. Luckily, I got a few mates that mine for me on a regular basis and I get to buy their minerals at good prizes.

I'll remind ppl once more that neither expensive ships or anything like that, IS NOT a counter-inflationary force.
Inflation is only attributed to the fact that the general amount of ISK that exist in the game (as in they have entries in the DB) is increasing steadily as it seems (mainly by insurance/agent runners imho).
The only counter-inflationary forces are PvE interactions where the player hands some isk to the server (and thus that ISK disappears from the game).

I am one of the miners....I have 3 accounts...who all mine a lot....I am also a carebear so I only mine in empire space..but
I aint mining atm....basely because I am waiting for those freaking mining crystal and the new mining drones to come out...I am a little tired of just waiting for the new stuff..and btw..the new mining barge ships..is soooooooooo boring to mine in...
why did they make it 3 min before you see any ores ????? I know you get a lot of ores...but ..its now even more boring to mine than it was before..so thats is why at least I have stopped mining for awhile...
I think the new mining barge are great...if you think of the amount of minerals pr min they can give you..but...they aint that great..sorry but they aint..
so..no mining for my 3 accounts until I see the mining crystals and the new mining drones...

Actually there IS a counter-inflationary influence. The more a ship costs, the more it goes on the market for, the higher the broker fees and sales tax. That results in less isk in the game.
A bloody good thing and long overdue.

look at the rise in numbers of players who pvp compared to the fall in miners more pirates in the game than miners in certain areas which will lead to less mins going onto the market and those that are mining will be in industrial corps producing or mining for contracts....its all ebb and flow with all the big battles and ship losses recently you will soon see mining in full swing again by a lot of corps

The price of Zyd has gone up quite a bit lately. This makes The scorp (a Zyd heavy ship) more expensive to produce. ----------------------------------------- Heinky> Dont mix eve with rl it can be bad for your health |

Maybe people just got sick of mining :)
When you have 5 billion, why bother mining your ass off for another 5 billion?
