Moved from EVE General Discussion to Ships & Modules - Jacques Archambault
There's a Minmatar industrial ship that nobody ever uses called the Wreathe. It just occured to me how ridiculous this name is. For those of you who don't know, a wreathe is a ring of flowers or tree branches that would usualy be hung a wall as a decoration, or placed over a grave as a sign of rememberance.
What kind of ridiculous name for a ship is this? Are they going to be naming ships things like "tinsel" too??

I believe you're referring to a wreath.
According to WordNet: 1. wreathe -- (move with slow, sinuous movements) 2. wreath, wreathe -- (encircle with or as if with a wreath; "Her face was wreathed with blossoms") 3. wreathe -- (decorate or deck with wreathes; "wreathe the grave site") 4. wreathe, wind -- (form into a wreath)
The first entry seems pretty fitting to me.

I use a Wreathe, it hauls ammo for my ferox...
Its a handy little ship, quite fast for its size, as long as you dont use it for any serious hauling youll enjoy it.

I drive a wreathe, hauls torps for me, and quite quickly too. Plus it looks sick.

I think we'd see a lot more people flying these ships if it was possible to turn the huge flashlight on and off. ------------

Personally I think "Thorax" is a stupider name. I mean, why name a close-range death dealing blastership after a part of the human torso? ------------

Actually I use a Wreathe now and then. Its pretty fast, cheap and looks cool.
Perfect for agent missions and smaller pick-up hauls.

Well, thanks for pointing out its speed and use as an ammo hauler. I might hafta try that now. But that wasn't the point I was making. I was critisizing the name.
Xeno, wreath is the same word as wreathe. Wreathe is just the older spelling. Just like colour means the same thing as color. The verb form of wreathe is strongly connected to the circle idea. Snakes wreathe. Wreathing describes the side to side worming motion that pushes the snake forward. It doesn't really fit a space ship very well at all, but I guess it's a little closer than a ring of flowers that you hang on a grave...

I used to use a Wreathe, until I noticed my Hoarder went much faster... could do with a speeds boost to be useful.

Yes! Flashlights for teh win \o/
Seriously tough the Wreathe is one of the - if not the - coolest looking ship in the game imho. Astrotrain rules
The only cause not many people use it is that the Hoarder is just one lvl away from if and has much more cargo and +1 mid and low slot and so not many producers are making Wreathes, so they are more expensive on the market then the Hoarder.

Personally I love the Wreathe.
The train look is so kickass and it was the first industrial I saw ever (in beta).
Even made a short lived BETA corp called Locomotive Industries
