Edited by: Stormchyld on 11/01/2011 13:16:38 don't know if this is just smth since the update this morning or smth I'm doing wrong but when I launch sisi the splash screen appears and then instead of log in page popping up nothing shows and when I click on eve on the taskbar it minimizes from infinity (apparently) at upper left to task bar and vise versa. I'll try again later but thought I'd ask if anyone else is having this issue

This happened to me after the recent update to version 219662. I bugreported it 5 minutes ago and I suggest you do the same.

Yea having issues after updating this morning. After the splash screen the 'main' window minimizes and nothing is there when I maximize it.
Cannot currently get the SiSi client loaded up and running. Deleted entire folder and currently reinstalling the SiSi client atm.
Let you know if this fixed the issue..

Same here, first tried clearing the cache, this did not help, working on reinstalling now.

I thought I started before you and you are already done?! Damn your fast XD
As for myself, deleting the entire SiSi folder and using the SiSi Launcher to reinstall and patch the client has still failed. The splash screen loads and then I get a EvE window minimized and when maximized there is nothing there..
SiSi Client is officially broken on my PC since this mornings patch!

SisiLauncher apparently results in a broken client, the normal (auto-)patch seems to be working. I will update as soon as we know more.

Confirming that a fresh copy and then using the auto-patcher works.

Use or create a SiSi shortcut to your 'sisi' eve.exe file and put the sisi IP address in that shortcut.

Update: Please use the normal patches for the moment, till this is fixed. The SisiLauncher removes files from the client, which it should not remove.
SiSi launcher had been great up till today... but I have a question.
Whats the difference between using the SiSi launcher and "auto-patch"? (Sorry I never used alternative SiSi patch methods before, so I'm clueless when asked to not use the Launcher!)
Do you mean updating via SiSi launcher is when you click "Fix Client", and auto-update is clicking the "Play" button on SiSi launcher? Or is this auto-update found somewhere else... I can assume manual patching is taking an .exe from the website somewhere and applying it without starting the game up first.

Hard to believe the Launcher is actually here today. The Auto-Patch way you are confused about is the way that you would 'auto-patch' TQ client. Your loading up the client and letting it 'auto-patch'.
What the Launcher does is if you get 'behind' on patches or something gets messed up, you can use the launcher to easily update to the latest and greatest SiSi version. But yes, up until today, the Launcher has been flawless for me.
Back to patching SiSi the ol' fashioned way XD

ETA on a fix, or workaround steps to get a launcher-changed install patched to working with the least downloading/time/effort? Can someone provide a diff, mirror+rsync or something? |

Ah ok thanks, so its like this...
Manual: Download from EVE website a literal patch file to then apply. Auto: Double click the singularity .exe file and let it patch itself with no SiSi launcher involvement. Launcher update: Either Fix Client or run via Play button.

I'll just wait till you post a launcher update .... setting the entire thing up all over again doesn't appeal to me all that much. and won't that wipe out my cached toon pics client side? the new ones I created last saturday? I have all my toons looking *exactly* how I want them now....lol prolly a toopid Q but if you guys are working on a fix I'll just sit tight. thanks for replying

Seems to be the old windowed mode screen resolution bug in a different form. Had to switch to fullscreen and from there change my windowed mode resolution to correct values.
After that I tried the new character creation which simply black screened. I didn't bother further after that. --

Wondering if this has been fixed, and just reran the SiSiLauncher. It put back 3 files, and I am now able to get in.
So, if you have not tried recently, it may be worth trying again.

Indeed, this issue has been fixed, but it is possible that there are still outdated files cached on the CDN. Try your luck, if it is still broken for you it will be fixed with the next patch, which should be deployed tomorrow.

I hit run, it didn't do any update, didn't work. I hit fix, it decides: resCharacterCreationBackdrops01.stuff, missing 29.56 MB (100.000%) resDX9.stuff, missing 92.23 MB (100.000%) res\Thumbs.db, missing 6.42 KB (100.000%)
Why didn't the run option do the fix checks, I thought it did?? Or does it just check the data's (from) the latest set, and not cater for the fact the launcher deleted its own updated files during/after the updating???
...And it's working |
