Very confused here.
Just read a post from a dev in another forum that seemed to indicate that there is stuff CCP is holding back pending "capsuleer discoveries".............
So, new content will be forthcoming if and when someone stumbles upon some secret somewhere?
Or, as someone else suggested, all of that only applies to the fiction and backstory, and has no relevance in the day-to-day gameplay?
I'd really love for someone at CCP to clarify.
Are we pilots, in fact, driving gameplay? Or are we just farting around in a fictional storyline somewhere, and the gameplay is what it is?
It would be the brass balls if the former were correct.............

Hmm,here's a possible example.
We have no proof that the devs intended Jita to become what it is today ("wretched hive of scum and villainy" :P). A lot of chronicles mention how this system is an enormous trade hub in the (lol)lore and fiction.

Yeah, I get that, but the question remains........if and when someone stumbles on whatever it is, will it add to or otherwise affect the game we are all playing? New ships, weaponry, areas, etc
Or will it just be script for the fiction machine?

Actually CCP have spent about 20 developer years (roughly 30 devs over the last 8 months) for producing super secret content that is just to be released as soon as a player finds the hidden easteregg in w-space. I desperately pray that one lucky guy will find it in 2012.
Also too bad that you couldn't link the original statement you were referring to. But I understand, the effort and time required...

I'm sorry, I though cross posting was a no-no?

"Cross-posting" means posting the same thread multiple times in different sections of the forums. Linking other threads in an already existing one is perfectly fine.

But the food is the great.
And yes players are driving storyline. If only because the fiction devs scour the forums daily looking for new ideas (to steal).

Edited by: Professor Tarantula on 14/01/2011 03:15:24 My guess is some obscure large collidable structure has a unique right click option which only appears when you're within 2,500.
So 20-30 years until we find it. Give or take.

That THING is 8 months old. It lived for two months, died and was left to rot from July (when the last official communication of the story writer and playerbase happened).

Sounds to me, then, that we capsuleers absolutely suck as explorers............

Probably this. Either that, or several of these strung together perhaps.

that or so few people give a crap about EvEs Lolore that if they did find something odd they just ignored it when they did a quick search and did not find anything about it.
