I have a phoenominal idea. Since there will be no end to people posting ideas on previously mentioned topics, how about this. One stop your gripping and move on to the next subject as it wont do any good to cry about it. Second the site could probably use an auto search feature that can point out to the poster that a subject has been posted before and put the thread up.
This would save both the poster from having to spend time typing but will also free up the forums from reposts of old topics. Not to mention people that like to cry about meaningless garbage. Imagine what can be done if people would stop crying about stuff and offer up meaningful solutions to issues like repeat postings.....
This post should keep the simple minded flamers busy for a while.

It would also help if certain ideas were stickied to the front page, that way folks with the same idea won't embaras themselves >_>; (like me)

It would also help If I drank more coffe in the morning, that way I can notice the "Commonly Proposed Ideas" thread.

New forums have been announced in latest DevBlog... tied to Eve Gate.
They have an improved search feature. I'm pretty sure its not automatic though, as that would require some kind of context appreciation, and potentially sky-net levels of awareness.
Personally, I dont think that extra threads should be closed... I think instead they should be grouped. Then you can just ignore a particular group. Or if you're especially interested in a specific topic, you can find all the threads in that group in one place.

I agree I like your solution better than the auto feature I suggested. It would probably be less costly.
