I read up on trade hubs and decided to go to Ours. -- It seems pretty dead. Maybe what I'd read was outdated info...Is it no longer so popular to trade there?

I explored Oursulaert 2-3 years ago to see what it had to offer. To the best of my knowledge it was never a "trade" hub in the conventional sense. What it had then, and probably still has now, is a large manufacturing base. Minerals move there, and if you follow those minerals you can find manufacturing corps that live there and may be willing to work with you.

a few years ago oursulaert was a trade hub because it did have 2 level 4 mission agents there. Long story short, they got moved, to Dodixie and Cat. As a result Oursulaert died and gave rise to dodixie.
Jita was the same way, even though they moved out all the mission agents, it was strong enough to retain trade hub status.

I got lots of sell orders active in ours and I must say that it has its days. I do make a good profit out of it if you know which Items are hot atm but I've also got days that sales are pretty much down to nothing. As a ours trader I might wanna move to Dod in the near future

Ours is still the 8th highest populated system in Empire, according to the most recent QEN. I still pull a decent amount of billions out of there but it may be to slow for some.

Fixed. Jita is dead smack center of the galaxy in most cases. Its reasonable jumps for most if not all of the null sec outfits and that's the core of the market. That's why its kept its status as long as it has. Location Location Location

Ours is ok. I like to put certain things there once in a while. It is a trade hub... it's just not a major trade hub.

Mission runners who can't be arsed to go to Jita go to Dodixie.

There's some market in the region.
Problem is stuff is split up: Arnon, Renyn, Oursulaert.... and traffic in Oursulaert split up across different stations on top.
Dodixie is your close friend. Jita is crowded. Amarr is rich. Rens is remote.

Oursulaert is quite ok, you can make a decent profit on some items, just donŠt expect the turnout in minutes. This might be too slow for the Jita boys, but when you can wait for some time, you will make your profit.
There is a starter system nearby, so even T1 can be sold at decent prices.
Hope this helps.

Yulai market was the first trade super hub, but that disappeared practically over night after the super highway closure fiasco.
In the immediate aftermath Oursulaert competed with Jita to become the #1 hub, it's proximity to Yulia certainly helped initially and it looked like it would be top dog. However, it was too far from Amarr/Domain to and the Gallente-Caldari rivalry fueled further division.
It was undoubtedly number 2 for a couple of years but started an irreversible decline after the loss of it's agents which migrated a lot of Gallente trade to Dodixie.
It was about that time the Anti-Jita movement got started and made Hek that into a significant trade hub.
The Emergence of COSMOS shifted a lot of module and industrial trade into Sinq and then later FW shifted the bulk of the remaining module trade to Villore.
Oursulaert is a now pale imitation of what it was, but quite a lot of advanced product trade still operates out of there, but even that is finally shifting to Dodixie recently.
