. . . or "How much I hate insta-lock gate camps"
So yesterday I was flying around in my Harpy in low-sec for some pewpew. It was a bit quiet around Old Man Star so I went a bit further.
After some jumps through "dangerous" Gallente high-sec (because of FW) I reentered low-sec. Unluckily my journey ended one jump later. Looking through the ships forming the gate camp, what do I see? A Broadsword. I decide to burn back to the gate ('cause I have MWD). So approach, heat MWD and activate . . . hmmm, their first volley took away almost all my shield. "I won't make it." I think and start spamming "warp". As my ship explodes (which I had fitted just today in some expensive "market hub") I realize that I still have the gate selected. One second later I'm looking at my new pod, meh.
Okay, that was kinda stupid. I'm near Jita now, thought, where I have a fitted Incursus that wants to see some action. So I take it and head back to low-sec. Because I don't want to die right away in a gate camp in Tama, I take a longer route through high-sec. Finally I'm back in low-sec and start looking for some nice targets.
It doesn't takes long and I spot a Ferox on scan and narrow it down to a belt. Without much thinking I warp to the belt (hoping he is ratting). He isn't ratting and sits right at 0km. Perfect I think: orbit, scram, web. He launches drones. Lets kill them. They are dead and I'm in low structure, but I'm under his guns. I start working through his shields. "This takes awful long." crosses my mind and I need to reload. While reloading I realize he has an active tank and his shields are back at about 2/3. Opening fire again, still in good mood, I come to the conclusion that I won't break his tank. Maybe he is responsive for a ransom. The moment I invite him to my ransom channel he explodes . . .
Oho, self-destructed, eh? But the pod is still there so I scram that and make my ransom demand. He declines it and leaves the channel. I would have negotiated a lower price, but there is no time for that now. I see a Dramiel on scan and initiate warp to a safespot. But it's too late, the Dramiel is landing. I'm scrammed and dead some seconds later. (At least I got my pod out this time.)
Really, that went downhill. No kill, no ransom, just a lossmail. But it was just an Incursus. So where is my next ship? The nearest is in Dodixie, some jumps away. It's not that I don't enjoy warping my pod around, so here I go.
After picking up the ship and being in Old Man Star again, where is still low activity. I set a course to some back water low-sec systems in Black Rise. While nothing noteworthy happens on the way there it seems these systems are not so back water like I thought. Browsing through the ships at the gate camp what see my sore eyes: not one but two HICs (Phobos this time) . . .
Why em I so unlucky . . .

feroxes are active tankers but they dont last long without cap boosters. You need to find yourself some nifty medium to large scale corp roams. Just go in a thrasher or something inexpensive and take a few shots and cycle targets just to get on the killmail.

Maybe it's not very clear but my post isn't meant to be 100% serious.
And yes, there are some tears in there. But I'm under the impression that whining is part of your subscription (as well as grief and rage and all the good stuff).
