As opposed to the abominations known as pizza everywhere else but Italy? American pizza isn't bad at all if you like a thicker crust. However, if you're talking about fast food pizza, you're an idiot. That's like saying all hamburgers are like McDonald's.

Pizza here is fine, don't need Italy for anything thank you very much and I think China might have something to say about your claim that only Italy makes proper pizza.
No, I hate the thick crust.

China? No thanks...I don't like cat on my pizza.
I was being facetious about Italy...pizza can be made well anywhere, you just have to know how to make it. The Japanese have the world's best pizza, in fact. I don't care for thick crust either, but I have to say that the best pizza I've had anywhere has been here in Italy.
Of course, if you're a tourist, you'll get microwave pizza for about 20 euros here because most people won't know the difference.

actually, no.
it was really a pizza with a relatively thin lasagna layer with meat and tomato sauce and cheese over it. ---

Yes, it's only the epicenter of culture, art, and history of the entire world. If for some reason you can't understand that, then you are quite right in staying away. Enjoy your bad food and worse weather.

Yes, it's only the epicenter of culture, art, and history of the entire world...why would anyone want to visit that place? If for some reason you can't understand that, then you are quite right in staying away.
They're also big on themselves, facist, corrupt, mobsters, catholics, mamas boys, falldown artists and they look overall slimey, the supposed men that is, the women are just a tad bit too hairy. Italy is a failed state and a good reason to get out of the EU before they drag us down to their level.
Name one good thing to have come out of Italy since Da Vinci.

Wow, you really know nothing about this place. I'll agree that they're corrupt and mamas boys, but that's hardly restricted to just Italy. And what women are you talking about? Italy has some of the most beautiful women in the world. Catholic? Seriously? That's your argument, as if the catholic church exists only in Italy?
I mean, it's one thing to name REAL things that you dislike about a place (there are lots of things I don't like about it), but it's a completely different thing to just make sh!t up as you go along in order to convince yourself of your own ignorance. You watch too much tv.

Fair enough, but you DO realize that all the things you listed exist only in your own head, right?
But whatever, man...more power to you. If you want to base your opinion of an entire country on preconceived false notions, that's up to you.
That's like me saying the UK is full of chavs with bad teeth, ugly women, bad food, and horrible weather. See? I can do it too! That doesn't mean it's true, however. Enjoy your deep-fried pizza.

Years of study of never experiencing things first hand, right? Right. I mean, why should you? It's not like a thousand years of culture, history, music, gorgeous women who love sex, great food, great wine, great weather, beautiful scenery, and pubs that stay open past 11 are good things.

What is this PC thing you're on about? This isn't about being politically correct, just about not being a moron, and you definitely need a pamphlet for that.
Ah, so now we get to the crux of the matter. You met a few annoying tourists and so now you know everything there is to know about an entire country without ever having stepped foot on its soil. I bet the real reason you can't stand it, however, is rooted in football. You strike me as that type of person. Can't stand the sport myself, but I especially hate Italian players.
Back to the topic at hand, the pizza thing (which is even more hysterical), is that you've slagged American style pizza as if you know what you're talking about when you've never even been to the place it's famous for. I'm not even going to get into the whole getting culinary advice from a Briton thing.
I'm just yanking yer chain, man. I thought you would've given up by now, but you just kept coming back with more and more comedy gold.
