can someone from ccp post in here an acknowlege theres a problem with the patch at least and offer a solution, or are you all still busy posting in coffee, donuts and hugs for devs thread and feeling good about yourselves while us lowly mac users get the shaft AGAIN.

Downloaded twice, error both times. Sheesh CCP, I know that expansions are a lot of work, and that Macs are not terribly important to you all, but this is the second time this has happened to me with one of your expansions. Sheesh.

I have not tried re downloading the entire game yet. Was going to wait for an official acknowledgment first. How many people have upgraded to system 10.6.6? This just came out a bit ago. And no, I am not going back to 10.6.5. I've noticed the last patch has had some strange errors/bugs after I upgraded to 10.6.6 previous to this eve patch.

Same problem here...downloaded a couple of times, deleted preferences folder and stuff but its still not working. Really dont feel like downloading a new client just to get the same error >.> so it would be nice to have some confirmation on what will/will not fix this |

Almost finished with download #3. Hoping for a miracle, but thinking I will wind up cleaning my house instead of playing Eve. Who knows...could even make that a habit. My family would love me for it.....lol.
Yup....#3 was a fail as well. Sigh.....so where the heck is the vacuum and how do I turn it on again? |

You guys and your fast dl speeds. That patch took me nearly an hour and a half. I think I'll wait for a fix....also, in the GD thread I believe someone posted about a reinstall that still gives the same error. |

downloaded twice via ingame updater. failed because files corrupt. downloaded manually the evepremiumpatch214371-221279-mac.tar and tried twice to update the client. failed (some files were changed, please reinstall).
filed a bug report.
The full client download should be ready by now. Trying to do a complete fresh install, as soon as the image is checked |

So just want to be on the safe side:
1. Ingame update does not work, no matter how often you try to re-download. This is confirmed 2. Downloading the patch manually does this work? I could download the patch manually but apparently (see some posts above, click on link) applying the patch does not work either. (havent tried that yet, because i dont wanna mess up anything). Is this confirmed? 3. Delete Eve and reinstall the full client, does that work?

Is everyone using the autopatcher to download the patch? I see some of you got it from Chribba's torrent but I'm not sure where that was grabbed from. I know in the past there has been success using the direct download instead of the autopatcher so let us know what you used

This ^^^. Waiting on updated info as well. In-game browser patch failure confirmed. OS X 10.6.6, 2.53 GHz Intel core duo, 4 gb ram, 160gb free space.

The Mac Eve client just wasted a few hours downloading a corrupted patch. Great :-( How hard is it to properly distribute a file? I don't understand how this most basic step is screwed up time and time again on patch days.

Autopatch failed twice Manually downloaded patch from the website failed twice.
Gave up at that point and am installing the whole thing fresh.
A great many electrons have been seriously inconvenienced downloading over 10Gb of stuff (1.5 gigs 4 times, plus complete client)

Verification failed, I don't have enough bandwidth left for this month to try again (2GB limit and the first file was 1.57GB)

3 Failed manual patches (from both your site and from Chribba). 1 Failed autopatch attempt. 1 Functional full install.
This roughly represents the order in which I tried things as well ù I usually just go for the manual patch because it has never failed me, whereas some of the early autopatch attempts I had (back in Trinity) choked half-way and never finished. I can confirm it's the same for me (Mac OSX 10.6.6). Autopatch didn't work, and after downloading the patch manually, it could not be installed.
Im trying to autopatch again, but the hope is slim.
Since Apple is nice enough to use Eve pictures on their ads, then why oh why do mac users get treated like this ??

Automagic patch failed twice for me: Once downloading it as soon as it appeared and again after it failed verification (happened <1hr or so after I posted in first page of this thread) gave up and downloaded the .dmg file for the full client from the EVE site _not_ the torrented file that was linked in this thread. Pleased to report I've been able to log in and do internet spaceships.

Trying this now, after getting the corrupt file error on using the autopatcher. Repair tool claims there are 1.42 GB of "missing" files, which I presume is the entire patch. Repair tool appears to be re-downloading everything. Will let you know when it finishes

Unhandled exception 0x80000001 at address 0x7005240f. Do you wish to debug it?
Now I can not even start the game now I try to clean all eve files on my mac and reinstall.. if that does not work I am lost and have no other idea

I ran the auto-patch, it failed with the "corrupted file" message. I then ran the repair tool linked here and it seems to be working so far. I am currently in the character creator.

ok, I patched 2 times with autopatch.. verification error downloaded the full client and could not even start the game because of the error I mentioned above. I had an older version of Eve, I could start that, checked the version and downloaded the manual patch. now I have the same problem when I use the full download
I have a MacBook Pro and no idea what else to do.. I downloaded almost the whole Internet today and it is still not working what else can I try??

autopatch: failed 4 times (2 times in the afternoon and 2 times in the evening) manual patch: failed 3 times (once afternoon and 2 times in the evening) trying full install now
and yes this makes about 10,5 BG within 8 hours ... my provider will love me for that

higuys i run 2 macs a 27in quad core and a macbook on 10.5.8 the i mac worked after i used the repair tool posted above wen i got in i had unclick shadows enable ingame to show anything other than chat boxes, i am stil downloading new client on to mac book to fix problem from before with the blackscreen on startup

Update: downloaded a new copy of the patch, and it seems to be working on an install that threw up the Awsomium error before.

Very crafty. Thanks. I'm trying it right now. The speed seems MUCH better than via the Autopatch. Will the -v tell me when completed? Just curious how I will know when it's done. Thanks in advance.

Very crafty. Thanks. I'm trying it right now. The speed seems MUCH better than via the Autopatch. Will the -v tell me when completed? Just curious how I will know when it's done. Thanks in advance.

Well that process kept dying at @ 4k... So i just copied the http link & kicked off a native download session for the tgz. Clicking along nicely at 530kb/sec. I'm facing Iceland with my chin up & my Mac hidden behind Mardi Gras beads in hopes that this works.

Nope; that failed as well... (manual download of the Would not pass verification.) Only took 45 mins so that was not bad. file came as a tar & I renamed to a tgz. I've never had issues with the compressed format before.... An added bonus; the verifying process deleted the downloaded tgz. How cool!
OK CCP, get your thinking hats on & let's tackle this issue if you pls. Autoupdate is slower than Fred Flinstone's hammer & chisel and the manual method fails verification for multiple people. Good luck & we'll check the Forums in the morning.
