Hi
Not sure if this bug is on desktops also, but alt tabing out of eve on login screen, and alt-tabing into eve again brings up the Eula screen for a quick sec, then dissapears, alt tabing out of game after this makes the screen go really dark on my laptop (reduce brighness).
This stays even after closing down the game, only way to make it go back to regular brightness seems to be to hit control+alt+delete and bring upp the task manager, then it gets restored
OS: windows 7 pc: Acer 4810T (Laptop) |

I got the same bug mate, EvE kills your brightness.
Have the same issue and bug reported it. The way to get around the bug is to open the task manager and kill the exefile.exe. If the bug is still there then, open eve again and kill the exefile.exe
That fixes it for me without restarting BUT if I alt tab I get the bug back... CCP please fix your buggy patch!!!

I can assume that this problem will be better fixed if you bug report it.
Also this problem used to be around on Radeon configured systems, it was due to a bug in the way the graphics chip handled games that used different colour palettes. This was fixed in a recent update to the ATI drivers
This option has been removed in the recent patch so I can assume that this issue has recurred. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

If you are on Win 7 try ctrl+alt+del then hit cancel, should bring your brightness back without killing eve.exe.
Also try updating your drivers!

Edited by: Siphaanu on 18/01/2011 20:42:04 There is no newer version of drivers available for my graphics. I reinstalled the same one over and it doesn't solve the "dimness upon alt-tabbing" issue.
EDIT: Using HP 6735b.

Edited by: D3LTTA on 18/01/2011 22:10:26 same problem here. alt tabbing or just using to windows button makes the screen go pretty dark. also after shutting down eve. driver update not helping here. and i'm confirming that Ctrl + alt + Del and then hit cancel works but damn ccp.
you guys go brazzling about patching in pieces to get rid off these things and yet still you fail. as mentioned this bug was active on sisi before launch and reported.
sarcasm inserted) yet they think ah well who alt-tabs when playing eve anyway...... no way in hell anyone does dual accounting...right ?

If you are dual accounting windowed Mode or Fixed Window Mode might be better, due to the decrease in paging that will occur in those modes, increasing responsiveness on switching clients and immediately after switching. Rather than forcing the system to load each client fully in and fully out or memory each time. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

I have the same problem with an ATI card. I could solve the proble BEFORE this patch. I just change the bit depth in the advanced settings where resolution is (something from 24 bit to 32bit or something like that)
But now, I CANT CHANGE THOSE OPTIONS !!!

tbh, I think this one caused by the video driver, not by ccp. :)

Upgraded drivers to a 11/2010 date ones. (Hard to find mobility ones)
If you dont find drivers for mobility radeon (toshiba,acer...) you can download an ATi installer that will install the proper drivers in your laptop.
Win 7/Vista 32 bits:
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/10-12_mobility_vista_win7_32_dd_ccc.exe
Win 7/Vista 64 bits:

Edited by: Derrick''DelBoy''Tr0tter on 19/01/2011 11:09:01 I have the same problem. I have the ATI radeon hd 4300 - 4500 series card. I updated the driver but it had no effect except when i went back onto eve i got a graphical bug in space where lights beams of light appeared, To fix that i had to reduce my shader quality from high to low to get rid of the graphical glitch but now my ships look blurry and crap :( Now i have two problems.
Please fix ccp or at least acknowledge the prob and that your working on a fix.

Yes, there should be an update from December for people with ATi 4xxx. Do that ASAP.
