I have a Radeon 9700Pro+ and I indeed have the same problems as everybody else that has posted here. I'd go nag Ati about this, but EVE is the only game that causes these kind of problems for me.
Please fix this, I don't want to have my machine lock up while I'm in the middle of a battle and find myself in a pod when I log in again.

Yes - I get crashes on mugshot-loading and hitting ESC (100% of the time) as I posted in another thread here. Though some people have no issues with their ATI 9700. Very confusing. :(

The worst part about this is than when it happens you are usually checking out what is a potential bad guy. If this happens to be the case, crash you're out and your ship is a sitting duck while you're rebooting.

Have any of you posted a bug report about this? Use the log server (http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=3714) and catch this lockup using it. Then create a well written report of it here (http://myeve.eve-online.com/bugreporting.asp).
Good luck! _________________________________________________________

Playing with the latest catalyst drivers , locks up rarely ... performance is great and very relaxing for playing with dual screen , EvE on main screen and watching movie on the other one :)

If your 9500/9700 is working, please post the rest of your hardware. So far it seems like ATI+Intel has problems, but ATI+AMD does not. Has anyone seen the lockup with a 9500/9700 and an AMD chip?

GX card = Raedon 9700 pro. CPU = p4-2.53 mem = 512mb ddr mobo = Asus P4B-533 Sound = SB Auldigy or however you spell it os = win2k DX = 9
to be honest Eve dosnt run that bad at all really. running in windowed mode. Mug shots will lag for a few secs but work ok. ESC works just fine. run IRC/IE/OE/ICQ/Winamp in the back ground at same time dosnt seem to effect it.
the only issues i seem to suffer is with lag.... LAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG but then when i see 5500 current people logged onto the servers...well your gonna get lag are you not.
if you require detialed info on drivers can get this when im home later.
Cheers

Running a Hercules ATi 9800Pro on and Epox 8RGA NForce2 board with AMD2700XP and two 256Mb sticks of Corsair XMS 3200.
No problems at all with Eve in any way. Only time it didn't like it was when I was running at higher FSB of 220 but that's nothing unusual, dropped back to 210 and it's fine. Card itself is also o/c'd to 465/360 and is watercooled along with the rest of the system.
Running Catalyst 3.5 drivers.

I have a solution to the ESC crashes - I discovered this during beta. It normally occurs when you've played with ur texel alignment, set it to the wrong extreme. Try reinstalling your client and leaving the texel alignment alone, if your text is fuzzy then drag the bar the opposite way than u did before, that should solve your problem. Oh, with the AA problems there's also a simple solution - turn AA off.

Well, there's the coincidence I just reinstalled win2k few hours before the new patch came out,but I got real problems with it.The whole system crashes sometime within 30s after I run EVE,not getting to actually get in game. My system is: OS: WIN2k Vid drivers: Catalyst 3.5 Vidcard: Radeon 9700 Pro CPU: Dual Xeon 2.2ghz MB: Supermicro P4DC6+ Using latest ATI drivers,SB drivers,LAN card drivers,SCSI controller driversa, all that I couldn't update yet is the MB bios as I need to go guy a new floppy driver, but I doubt that will fix anything.

I get a total system reboot EVERY time I hit escape.
Kind of sucks as I can't even quit the game properly. |

Well, my problem was not with CTDs but with the new patch (1055) preventing me logging in until I set the game to compatibility mode (win98/ME) under WinXP.
Asus A7V333 XP2100+ 768MB RAM ATI 9500Pro (catalyst 3.4) Win XP
