Overtanked and too expensive.
My nightmare is all tech 2 fit except the heatsinks. I can afford the expensive mods, but I don't need them. Hell, even the rigs on mine aren't what I would put on it, but it came rigged...and I don't see a reason to rip out the rigs because it works fine as is.
Hell, I've gone with fits that only tank -maybe- 200-250 dps and that works fine as long as you're ganking the npcs and lowering the dps.

it is pretty much the cookie cutter pve nightmare fit. I'd just swap the boost amp for another hardener.

What sort of tracking scripts you need to use depend on the tactical situation, think of it as a variable TE. Generally, you'd want to use MF as much as possible, so use 1-2 Optimal scripts if target falls outside MF optimal (anything over +5km optimal). Swap to all Tracking scripts when they're under 30km.
If you're tanking Sansha/Blood with that setup, replace the SBA with a 3rd hardener. The resist hole is too large to benefit from SBA, you'll end up burning much more cap.
Where are the rigs? Typically CCCs or mix of T2 Elutriation + CCCs. Full cap boosted boats generally also fit CDCS over CCCs.
One last note, your guns are not stable without a cap boost for anything over 10mins sustained fire (without even touching your shields) - assuming you've got only CCC rigs fitted. The endurance is extended to over 15mins with the T2 Elutrition + CCC mix. If you blitz, it's a lesser concern but if you run the full course, there are easily several missions where it will put a strain on your cap booster charges. |

I fly my Nightmare with T2 Mega Pulses, maybe you should try them too.
They have a more limited range to 45-60km with Scorch L, whats ok, for that they are much easier to fit allowing you a heavy neutralizer + tank mods and they require not that much cap.
My one is completely x-type/officer and T2 CCC fitted and I'm doing sansha anomalies with it. 6/10 is working solo too without issues.

this question can answer only you. If your tank works, a tracking comp is not that bad idea... or cap recharger maybe?

Change the tracking comps for a point and web / the enhancer for a dcu / and the tachs for pulses and you have a nightmare

Your fit will be a gank magnet, and as said, it's probably overtanked. If you're worried about cap use, switch to faction tachs. You lose about 2.5% DPS in return for reducing cap use by 25%. In terms of the actual number of shots required to kill the rats, the difference is negligible.
I used a faction AB, faction tachs and a T2 tank on my 'mare, and I didn't use a cap booster either. In fact I think one of the hardeners was a named one for a long while because I couldn't be bothered to change it. The Nightmare literally murders the rats so fast they barely get a chance to damage you in 90% of missions. In the end I put a Pith B-type XL on it because I just felt the ship deserved it, and they're pretty cheap for what is effectively a T2 booster with a free boost amp built in.
As well as being convenient for those missions where you have to trudge 50Km to the gate, the domi AB is also a useful tracking mod...
If you want to spend some ISK on your Nightmare, get a rack of +5% hardwirings; +5% RoF (slot 7), +5% energy turret damage (slot 10), +5% tracking (slot 9), along with +5% cap recharge (slot 6) and capacitor (slot 8).
The RoF and tracking implants especially will bring your real damage up more than is at first obvious. The fit I had when I sold it was this (plus the above implants), and it was capable of doing any mission with ease. I'm not even saying that it's the totally optimal fit, only that there is no mission you will not be able to do in it.
[Nightmare, Mission] True Sansha Heat Sink True Sansha Heat Sink True Sansha Heat Sink Tracking Enhancer II Tracking Enhancer II
Domination 100MN Afterburner Cap Recharger II Shield Boost Amplifier II Pith B-Type X-Large Shield Booster Photon Scattering Field II Photon Scattering Field II Invulnerability Field II

Large Capacitor Control Circuit II Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Semiconductor Memory Cell I
Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x5
Sell the X-type stuff and use the ISK to buy hardwirings and cheap faction stuff. Keep the change and use it towards whatever goal you're missioning to fund.

Malcanis's Fit is very similar to mine except for the mids and rigs.
1x Gist B-type XL shield booster 1x Invulnerability field T2 1x Thermal hardener T2 1x EM hardener T2 1x Shield Boost Amp or an AB 1x Sensor Booster T2. I keep both scripts in cargo hold although I usually use the tracking script. 1x Cap Booster, 800's
3x CCC
These let me run the guns and the hardeners while the caps are for the shield booster only. Never get close to running out of them because this ship kills the rats really quick.
