One of the hallmarks of the previous character creator was that everyone seemed to look different but still related, like we were looking at the same person but 100 different ways.
If you have a female khanid post here, so we can see how many different variations there are of the same base.

I tried about an hour to recreate my old picture, but it didn't work out. So I went for something completely different. Not particulary happy with it either, but I guess it'll have to do.
They should have put in some sort of system where you can hire somebody else to do your portrait and pay for it with ISK or something :)

Can't get the skin pale enough to resemble my previous portrait, haircut is the least bad of none that resemble the old one, eye colours are so washed out...
So far the character creator has been one huge disappointment - the available options are just far too limited.

It's much better now.
If anything, we looked too alike with the previous character creator. I don't know about your family, but even my siblings and I look terribly different. Related people do *not* look like the same person 100 different ways. And by 100 different ways, I mean: on a good hair day, on a bad hair day, looking left, looking right, making different faces, wearing different clothes, with different lighting, etc.
Right now, I can tell a female Khanid apart from a non-Khanid simply because we tend to be more attractive. That's related enough for me.

I actually tried pretty hard to keep a (pre-incursion) khanid look, whilst doing my best to throw in a look of contempt & my own twist, I'm really happy with the result (I've also not seen anyone else use this hair style either, and it actually does work well in this case)

I really think that the Amarr Khanid is the worst of the Asian races in Eve. I've tried them all and will consider rerolling to another since my account is young. It's the face - especially the lips - just not right. They aren't ugly at all just I think not done as well.
Khan'Ha above did quite a good job, I preferred the emerging BoA look of the old Khanid

Well I need to pick between her and this one really. I'm almost a week along in training this char, but considering how many times I've restarted in this game, that doesn't bother me...

Though I'm happy with how my avatar turned out, I agree that it would be nice to have more options. Complexion, along with eye angle/size would be a nice start. Still, we have more options now than we did on the old character creator.

Female Khanid char here, currently stuck far away from any useable EVE client. I was worried about the new Khanid look from reading the devblogs, now feeling quite relieved after seeing all the variety here.
Can't wait to get back to the states and play with the new char generator.

I admit the snapshot could use a little improvement, the composition of the first one was better, agreed. Still, it wasn't my purpose to look striking. I think a lot of people made characters that look less astounding as they could but they chose to look more normal or common.

I really think that the Amarr Khanid is the worst of the Asian races in Eve. I've tried them all and will consider rerolling to another since my account is young. It's the face - especially the lips - just not right. They aren't ugly at all just I think not done as well. Khan'Ha above did quite a good job, I preferred the emerging BoA look of the old Khanid
Don't know what you're talking about. I see many different beautiful faces and lips. Incredible variety with the base model and what you can morph it into. Some of my favorites, and no lip problems as far as I can see:

And there is much variety beyond my examples. The old portraits, while I will always be attached to mine, were not as varied or as much fun make for every race and bloodline. This new system allows you to sculpt within reason features that you do not like, whether they be lips or cheekbones etc. I do have a gripe with the lack of iconic racial clothing and accessories. But it appears those will come in future patches. I was skeptical at first about the new portrait system but it has been a pleasant surprise for me and most people it seems. More importantly it appears to have been a success for CCP, which is good for the game's health even for those that bemoan the lack of focus on pvp mechanics.
