McPod	Posted - 2011.01.19 22:34:00 - [1] freezing at "checking navigation system" when i log in or undock. ive talked to a whole bunch of gm's, who automatically assume it's client side, but i can replicate this error my other computers. i could log on when they moved the char to a station, but when i try to undock i get stuck at the "checking navigation system" part again. my alt works fine on same account, my alt on another acc also works on the same computer. ive cleared the cache and settings. this began after i created a portrait for my alt on the same account. after that i tried to log back on the main and got stuck. im not sure if that had something to do with it, but anyway, someone may want that info. gm's have adviced me to stay away from the system where i am, which is not good advice since i cant undock and move away from it. gm's closed my petition without my consent. im sure they dont need it but just closing it like that is really rude.

BUT funny thing is, on my alt on the SAME account, i can log in and dont have any problem whats so ever. So its definitely not clientside. on a side note, my main i have created a new avatar on, and on the the alt i havent. dk if it has anything to do with it, but just sayin.

G4Rby	Posted - 2011.01.19 22:51:00 - [4] ok, how did you get in contact with a GM? I put a petition in, but o no avail. I would prefer not to have to be moved to a station, seeing as WH life can make it rather hard to get back in once you get out, but if it lets me log in ill be happy.

Meh, i can get corp mates to scan me back in, since the ship i crashed in was a drake. but ever since the crash i get the hang up. And seeing how im in the system currently connected to ours, if the Wh does collapse i mine as well et put into a station anyway. So best thing to do is abuse petitions to get some immediate help? And also, did you go in thru an alt to put the petition in? on my main i cant even get the petition window to open.

McPod	Posted - 2011.01.19 23:06:00 - [8] update. managed to undock in pod. gm asked me to eject and repackage everything, but i didnt want to because i was in a tengu. never tried to repackage t3, how does that work? advice: ask gm to move you to a station, try to undock in pod.

I dont see how repackaging would change a thing, but ill give it a try. Will post an update when i get moved.

So i gotta get moved back into station. do i put in another ticket? after i get back in im just gonna dismantle the ship and sell it off and go buy another.

Utatil	Posted - 2011.01.20 08:03:00 - [17] Exactly the same problem, but I am in wh space. When trying to log in I get stuck into "checking navigation system" dialogue screen. Any quick solutions CCP? I do not want to go back to empire! This is silly.

Felstaff Celium	Posted - 2011.01.22 18:45:00 - [20] I am having the exact same issue. Living in a WH, went to change from my T3 to my BS and got stuck at the 'checking navigation system' phase. Have restarted my computer, reset my cache, reinstalled Eve and still having the same issue.

On a separate account I can see that my frozen character does appear in space in his ship, but interacting with it and inviting to fleet has no effect on his status.

I tried getting away with not repackaging my drake to save my rigs the second time and was able to un and redock in another ship, but as soon as I tried to undock in drake... Third time getting "stuck". I have tried logging in on multiple machines with different OS and different (SSE2 compliant) processors on different networks, cleared cache in and out of game, checked for updates to C++, un/reinstalled and updated graphics drivers, and even un/reinstalled the EvE client. Definitely not a local issue. I am also able to log in with an alt on the same account without issue so it seems to be character specific. If anyone hears about a fix please... post it.
Spankyoo Moore	Posted - 2011.01.23 08:17:00 - [24] same issue here - game freezes in Win7 64bit event viewer appears an Application hanged error the issue repeats randomly either after few minutes of game play or as soon as I load the character. The issue is not replicated on secondary char on same account. The issue repeats on other accounts as well. Tried flushing cache, reinstall client, even tried installing VM xp machine - still same drivers up to date ATI 10.12 wanted to add that the new avatars in chat lists do not update, see black boxes with exclamation marks.

Interesting thing is that now I'm on laptop with 32bit win7 OS, and nvidia gpu (8400gs) the issue is not returning. The game doesn't freeze and all avatars are fetched ok. When I get home I'll try plugging my old 8800gts to the workstation.

I found a quick and dirty fix for this. I had my corp mates bumb me out of the POS force field and destroy my hurricane. As soon as the ship was destroyed my interface came back and I could see everything, my pod, my wreck :) Not prolly a good idea if your in a tengu, and not viable if your docked. This does prove what one guy was saying earlier in this thread, that this problem is tied to a ship. My experiance was: I recustomised my character "Jaelz" portrait after i wasn't happy with it the first time. I was logged out and the portrait updated when I was offline in space in my hurricane. And I had this annoying bug when i logged back in. My 48hr+ wait was too much for my patience, this outcome suits me better than wating it out. With -9.7 sec status empire might have been hairy in a battle crusier anyway. However if you wait for the GM to move you to a station, repackage your ship and have the GM reimburse the cost of your rigs, it should fix it for you.
