Ok thats it, everyone reading this send 200k isk right now or you get it where it counts! heheh
Seriously, I have been running my indys solo all over the known regions in eve, that is currently reachable. I have not lost a single ship to anything since my second night here . Last night I go warping up to a gate, there is some guttural bovine noises coming from the vicinity and my battle-indy starts taking damage from them. But I have been in situations like this many times before, i confidently (erroneously) think to myself, and will make it to the jump gate with no loss. I reach the gate with no shields but more than half armor and all my structure intact. I hear the voice say jump initiated 3 times in the next several seconds, until the battle-indy is replaced by the battle-egg. which is promptly wiped out from the face of existance. I filed a petition thinking that there was a bug that kept me from jumping, got a response that said basically tough luck, hope you get on your feet again, yadda-yadda. the official reason behind this loss of my ship was that i had been jump scrambled. But i heard no noise or saw no visuals to show that it had been used against me, just the day before i passed a large source of bovine gutteral noises with no problem. I think it was surprised at seeing my battle-indy warp up behind him and keep trucking to the gate as it took him a while to lock on and commence firing.
Yah anyway, has anyone lost a ship this way with no apparent reason for a lack of function to a ships jumping or warping without logs of scramblers being activated against you?

There is no such thing as jump scrambling, probably just some sort lag spike. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

Good to know i got officially lied to. I knew what was going on, I was within jump range to hear Jump initiated 3 times before losing the battle-indy, which was about 10 seconds or more. They will replace a ship to a guy that ejects from one and goes to dock at a station to get another ship only to go back and find it gone, but they wont replace mine and make up a reason for the loss of my ship?

dont settle for it, get back in ther and complain. You are paying for a game and not lies.. Fair enough the game has problems and bugs and that, but it is not fair enough that GM's lie and tell fals truths to get off giving you stuff back. Get back in there with petition after petition to get ur ship back. I know you prob have money for another but it is the principle, tooo many people jus accept these things, I dont and neither should you .. ask them the same thing, "since when can you get jump scrambled". I hate unfairness and that is what they are doing to you, being unfair... Fight the good fight my friend..

Jump Jammers and scramblers were around during late beta, so yes they *do* exist, however i wasnt aware that they had become available in the real thing yet. Nasty business that if you didnt get a message.

jump scramblers would rule. It would add a whole new element of danger for pirates, if someone would block the gate they are hugging....
Of course, against unaware victims, the shoe would be on the other hand (or worse)
interesting. .

Yah, if they did exist, which isnt the point, and if it was used against me in this situation. the message should be Jump Impossible or somthing along that line, instead of hearing Jump Initiated. Remember there was no visual effects or sounds of the jamming nature.

well, everytime I get it, its lag. Usually if I right click on the gate, and manually hit jump it bungies me back a few K, and then jumps. ______________________

From experience, when you hear the voice saying "Jumping," it is only letting you know the autopilot has requested to jump. Doesn't mean you are actually in range, from the server perspective. Sounds to me like a client/server mismatch error due to lag. Your client thought you were at the jump gate and thus kept trying to jump. Meanwhile, the server was resolving the intense battle. In the end you got the quick update of what had really happened.
As far as the GM response, I can only imagine it was a quick overview of your message where he got warping confused with jumping. Though I know customer service should take more time, sometimes it just doesnĘt happen. Heck, I have sent in a petition regarding a training problem and gotten back a response apologizing that beta had ended and there was nothing which could be done.
In the end, I doubt you will get an adequate resolution, as it seems to be a hard to prove situation. From their point of view (server), it would look as if you decided to take the risk and run the gun and lost. It does suck big time, as I have experienced similar losses. The only good thing I can think of to help is the knowledge that other people who would attempt to make up stories and abuse the support channels donĘt gain an advantage either.

SOTEC stands for Scum of the Earth Club which I started over 30 years ago in highschool. We were nonconformists, non-elite, antisocial and relatively harmless.
The official response to this is yes there are such things as jump scramblers, and that I have no proof i ever had an indy or anything else i lost. I for one will not pay to be treated like this, hell, i get that for free sometimes in rl :) anyway, you folks that read this and responded thanks and beware of anything you hear officially. I for one am gonna go to sleep for a week and check out some new stuff out. I had a blast playing for the last 2 months, awesome world, hope customer service gets a good kick in the pants before it becomes customer servitude. help me keep in touch with this place by letting me know whats up at [email protected]
So long, and thanks for all the ISK

I have killed ships before that jumped out (the exploding husk jumped out). Left the pod behind for me to kill, and probably confused the pilot enough to give me those precious seconds I needed to lock on.
It's rather funny to see an exploding hulk of a ship jump out of the system.
Today, however, was the first time I have ever seen a corpse jump out.
I came to the mara gate in passari, right behind a nice big juicy indie.
I wait for my magnetic field to quite messing with my lock. In this time the indie doesn't run, so I think, GREAT, I have a chance.
I lock on and open fire, but the indie uses his microwarp.
I'm pounding heavily on his hull, he's nearing the gate.. closer... closer...
He reached jump range, DAMN I say.
But wait!! He's not jumping!!
The pilot must be disoriented, I have a few more precious seconds!!
Boom!! the indie begins to explode, it's husk jumps through the gate. BEAUTIFUL, I exclaim.
Then I tried to lock the pod, also in jump distance. There is a HUUUUUUGE lag spike, but I timed it in my head and activated my guns after the lock on time expired.
There is a HUGE rubber-band, my guns deactivate as the pod begins to explode!! Excellent!!!
And the corpse jumps through the gate!
This was an exciting kill.

Heheh, I wish I had as much fun as you did. I knew you hadnt used a jump scrambler on me but the gms all insist i am lying and wont return any of the items or ship lost, not to mention the cargo. I was trying to keep your name out of it but thanks for verifying what i thought was the case. you can ask ywev and gauss, the day before you got me at that gate i out ran them in the same indy you took out. And ywev was in a battleship no less. Anyone know how to get a refund on the time i got left? canceled my account but it says that I have account opened till September.

No problem.
I honestly wasn't sure who it was I killed. It was all pretty spur-of-the-moment.
You have to understand, an indie in front of me is the same as a red cape in front of a bull.
Only I am a cow.
::smiles::
Your story sounded very much like what I expected it would look like from that victims point of view, so I thought I would share my story in case it was the same event.

Oh, and for what it's worth. I think the GM's should replace your ship.
You woulda made it if it weren't for the lag that suddenly cropped up as soon as you got within jump range.
*** (for you, cool for me)
Lallente lost his ship the other day when he undocked because he blackscreened for 30 seconds at 'entering space'.
These bugs need to go... Or at the very least there needs to be a GM tool developed that will allow them to tell when something like this has happened so that people can be compensated.
It's one thing to lose your ship, it's another thing to lose your ship because the game wouldn't let you do anything to avoid it.

The funny part is that i have two ways of connecting to play, dsl and dial up, dsl sometimes is to shakey where i live. Anyway, the day before you got me, thannks to the system glitch, I warped to a gate and ywev was there ahead of me, i just trucked onto the gate, it took him a bit longer than usual to lock me and start shooting, i guessed he was shocked at seeing an indy going nearly 1k m/s. But I made it past him connected via dial up, but in the case with you, I was on dsl late at night when connections are good for it. Oh and tell Gauss for me that I am sorry to have stolen his loot (not), the prototype gauss cannons, I gave them to charity for him as he was announcing he would with the proceeds from him selling them. heheh. And I agree, if it had been a clean kill, i would be the last person complaining about it, I canceled my account and found out that the unused portion of my 3 month fee will not be refunded. So folks, use up your subscription before quitting.

Heh. CCP's GM are offical liar(sorry to say that, but it's true), I've filed 3 petition about no bounty from npc pirates hunting. this is a well known bug, but all 3 times, GM told me I WILL get my bounty, that's just server lag......
