I feel my entire ingame persona just got flushed down the space toilet. I was unable to recreate my old self, instead I got a generic face and oh, look generic clothing...

At least you don't have a random band of skin going around your shoulders. Where did that come from CPP?!

It's quite unique though, you'll get a lot of attention when Incarna gets released!!
Strange thing is that Jennifer was updated on the forums almost immediately while I'm already waiting for an hour or more for an alt - that I updated before her - who still looks like version #1.
It's weird ...

Quick question to CCP, is the web image server different in any way to the one in-game.
Because on the web server my re-customized characters hair is clipping through her shoulder badly, however this appears to not be happening (Correctly) on the in-game variant. __________________________

I made one at first and there was this old lady with wrinkles, not great..
So today i got the chance to make a new one, HOORAY, and now noone can see it, when i relog it also cancels and reverts to the one i have made before.
CCP messed up again? -Buhhd
Ninjaedit: I can see it on forums, if you can then that's something at least..

I have a problem with the char creator too.. Heres the comparison between what I made (on the right side shows up only on logon)http://img841.imageshack.us/i/nothatiwant.jpg/ and the render (left side) on ALL other e.g. ingame, browser. So I wanted a latin hottie and ended up with Consuela. wtf

Well mine worked good and fast, I redid mine and logged right in and it was the one I just did. Even tho I did clean my catch before remaking mine, that's what i think made it work right away. Could be wrong, also I would like to take pics of others like I could before.

Edit: It now appears to be doing it in-game as well! Now this is obviously not the intended look (Hair is supposed to flow over the body and not clip it!), is this an issue CCP is aware of, or do I need to petition to get myself re-rendered?
I'll answer this one because this will answer some other questions as well. We are rendering the images server side and use multiple levels on caching to make the images load faster. This caching introduces a delay into the process of making your characters appear on the web and this is what accounts for the up to two hours delay you can see on the forums. To reduce the confusion a little bit, the client also saves a snapshot of the image when you finish your new avatar, and keeps displaying this until our image server renders the image properly. This is the reason why you sometimes see slightly different images in the client and on the web... until the client figures out that a server side rendered version is available and starts using it.
As for the clipping problems: we are aware of various issues within the character rendering process, including clipping ones but also the much more obvious one with the disobeying Amarrian hoodies. We will re-render the corrupted images as soon as the bugs in our rendering servers will be patched properly. Petitioning your badly clipped hair won't help you much as computers are deterministic and will just come up with the same result if we don't change the underlying code.

Thanks a lot for the update, it's appreciated!
It's funny though: - Character A: looks ok in character select screen, looks clipped in game, on forum both small and enlarged pics are still the old ones; - Character B: looks ok everywhere; - Character C: looks ok in character select screen, looks ok in game, on forum small pic looks ok but enlarged pic is still the old one;

Of my 4 re-customized characters (re-designed ~16 hours ago) only two work 100% well.
* this one and another one look correct; * the other one keeps swapping portraits back and forth in game, on the forums the small pic looks ok but the enlarged one (if you click her) is still the old one; * the other one is buggy, only at the startup screen she looks correct, in-game and on the forums her hair is different and her big forum picture is also still the old one.

My first attempt came up with a stupid pink ring thingy around his neck after I logged out a couple of times and now it's done the same thing, I wonder if this is going to be a ongoing problem?

No worries, I was having the EXACT same problem, but literally minutes ago, it randomly updated while I was in-game. It seems CCP is working on it. If you're still experiencing these issues within a few down-times ( CCP would've cleared the cache by then ). In any case, goodluck.
PS: Thank you CCP. You guys are very prompt, effective and all the works.

I LoL'ed.
Since I'm a programmer, there's one thing you notice, sooner or later: For the end user, even though they swear that the computer acted on his own and shows sign of independent intelligence, the computer is actually a deterministic machine.
For the programmer, although he KNOWS that the computer is a deterministic machine, there are times when they can demonstrate that the computer is not, in fact, a fully deterministic machine.
(As a disclaimer: while the second, aberrant, behaviour is USUALLY determined by bugs, it may, in some cases, be a product of random variations and, at any rate, is often so deeply dependent on so many factors that it soon becomes a chaotic (in the mathematical sense) system, which is quite the closest thing you can get to non-deterministic without introducing random elements)
