I've seen a few recruitment posts for corps that do "wormhole PVP". I don't get this. Surely the chances of finding a lot of gankable targets in a WH is so slim, it's not worth the time or effort? |

It isn`t worth the effort. Don`t try it.... Meh, there are lots of good chances to pvp in WH, always. But looking is the key. Hell, sometimes PVP looks for you! |

Confirming there is no PvP to be had in WH space.
All those sites going unrun, shame really that nobody lives in WH space.
It's aways empty, just check local.

Once.....I went thru a wormhole into this unknown space, to look around.
A moment later, someone jumped into local and said "gf".
After thinking a moment, I typed " Huh? I'm married.....I don't need a money sucking girlfriend!"....and I promptly left. |

Yes there are certainly less opportunities, but WH pilots generally like the style WH pvp provides. E.g. it provides a more meaningful use of caps in pvp, higher value ships to shoot, rewards skill in scanning due to no local. Also keep in mind while you may have a hard time finding WH targets to shoot, you will generally have ample access to low/null exits for pvp. Verge of Collapse for example do bucket loads of pvp in k-space. |

Well, if you equate PvP to ganking, then you're gonna have a bad time. |

wh pvp is a bit different. Give it a shot. Its not suitable for blind all out assaults. More of a patient hunter thing.
Think submarine packs or snobby imperialist big game hunters instead of mongol hordes looking for cities to pillage that you see in k-space.
The side with the best scouts usually wins. |

WH's are great as a start point for PVP. The exits provided can lead to everywhere in the universe, and it can be quite fun to go on roams into null for targets. Generally your so far behind their lines, flying through masses of empty systems, it takes them a while to realise your there, and even more to mobilise some sort of response. And if things get too hot you can disappear back down your hole, which you've degraded loads before you even set off, making it impossible to mount any effective response.
PVP actually in WH space can be hit and miss, completely depending on who is roaming through, and what sort of connections you happen to have. Connecting higher-class wormholes can provide targets, but also make things alot more dangerous if they happen to be larger, or..... russian. |

I recent months I've completed participating in (and by that I don't mean 'winning') the "EVE pvp grand slam": I have now gathered experience doing pvp in hisec, lower-class w-space, k-nullsec and higher-class w-space. And I have to say, each area has its own challenges and you're not complete when you haven't done them all.
Exploring C1s and C2s generally yields only 1-3 targets to gank... an exciting fight is rare and you have the best chances to get one if you bring only 1-3 pilots yourself. There are some large groups in C2s, but the vast majority of them are inhabited by solo players and pve farming corps who never bring a fight even if they have the numbers.
C3s are not much better... residents are usually solo players or very small groups. The advantage is, C3s require Tengus or similar, so ganking here is profitable and you get juicy killmails. And, because many larger groups live in systems with a C3 static, chances are better to get some serious pvp via your static's connecting holes.
Then a few months ago I moved into a C5 with a corp I have two of my mains in (GNADE Inc.)... and it really has been a blast so far. I half expected to be isolated in deep space, condemned to do mostly pve. But the opposite is the case, in a C5 you get so many connections to Nullsec and other w-systems... in our C2s we lived in for a long time incoming WHs were really rare, and nullsec connections were once a month or so. Now we get these opportunities (often more than one) almost every day.
And pvp in k-nullsec away from wormholes requires its own tactics, which more and more of competent w-space alliances are beginning to master, I think. Right now I feel we have it so good that I barely log in my other mains anymore, who are in resident nullsec corps. We wormholers just have the best of all worlds right now The Invulnerability Sphere:Make mining/industrial vessels defendable, better fights for everyone! |

Confirmed. Always nobody in local. Only abandoned POSes without fuel indicate the existence of an ancient civilization. Who are they? Where are they now? Why are they gone? |

But honestly there is less PVP but its a more rewarding form of PVP and the community for the most part is allot more engaging, there are some exceptions that cry if you bring a 10 man kite fleet to annoy a 30man T3 + Logi gang. |

there is alot of PVP in WH space eve if ur not looking for it, there is allways something connected to your hole and anything ( apart from super caps or anything that exceeds the mass of said entrance) can get in cloak up and wait for you untill the right moment to strike.
i think it adds a level of excitement because sometimes you have no clue whats coming at you or what might of been cloaked up and waiting for you when you log in its good fun.
of course you can go into null or low from a WH and thats good fun too but i prefer Wh play because its not so political or wrapped up in the massive alliances you tend to work more as a team. |

+1
life in a WH is great for those who take the precautions, and are prepared to lose a ship from time to time. You must always assume there is someone waiting to shoot you on the other side of that bubble.... and usually there is the challange is to get in a position to shoot them before they shoot you.... |

Wormhole pvp, like the rest of Eve, is an accident when it happens. Most of the "pvp" people refer to, like the rest of Eve, is completely one sided ganks or mismatched engagements.
What makes it better than the rest of Eve is the unknown provided by no local. |

I like to visit people's holes and say "I can see you." in local - some idiots fall for it. Also, uncloaking in a single recon ship sends a 10 man camping squad fleeing in terror, very lulzy.
PS WH changes pilots, it does stuff to your mind. :| Armed industrialists are welcome to join our WH community. Evemail for details! |
