It would be great if CCP would allow you to change your bloodline. When I started playing Eve, I picked my bloodline based on appearance (since racial stats did not matter). I love the new character creator, but now I find myself really bummed that I have to create avatars for my 5 accounts and some of them I would not have picked if I had a choice, so on a few of my accounts I am left with avatars i'm not happy with.
Right now this doesn't matter. But when Incarna comes out, and I will actually be using my avatar.
Is anyone in the same boat as me, wishing they could pick a different bloodline than the one they have? |

I agree, my character was the only Minmatar race I did not like visually. I can live with it, but if I had a choice, i would not have picked this bloodline. I would have picked possibly a Brutor, a bloodline that looks like my perception of what a Minmatar should look like. |

I was so happy with how my Amarr bloodline turned out, it had some of the same qualities of the original Khanid bloodline when I picked it. But I agree, some of the bloodlines just do not translate, especially the Minmatar, the Sebiestor went from looking Samoan, or Maori to Asian. I think for some of the bloodlines, Eve nailed them spot on, but for others, it lost some of the original flavor. |

Thanks Lutz, did not know that. So I can make a alt with a bloodline I like, as long as its the same Race and Gender, and they will replace the avatar, well thats answered. Sadly its going to cost per character, but I guess thats how it goes.
Thanks for the reply. |

I just logged in to try to recreate my old avatar's face. not possible. not even close. So, yea, if being able to swap out bloodlines would help me get closer to what I had, then sign me up. As it stands I'm very ****ed that after nearly 8 years all my characters are being forced to look different... |

Agreed, this hood is a totally different fabric than my old hood!
Just kidding. It wouldn't be an Eve forum post without some smart assery! I agree though, I would not have picked my bloodline for my main if I knew a year down the road it would be changed to something that looked way off.

Sadly I must disappoint you
Before Incursion the service allowed only to swap the portraits of exactly the same bloodline, not race
I see no reason why CCP would change it now |

Only within the same bloodline so that's not a solution.
from Portrait swap FAQ: "3. Why does gender and bloodline have to match when swapping portraits? As bloodline and gender define a lot about your character the portraits that are going to be swapped need to have same bloodline and gender. The swapping is only meant to fix elements you are not happy about with your original portrait creation, it is not meant for gender and ancestry changes."
You can always sign the petition on the Assembly Hall, you're not the only one who's not all that happy with the mixed up options, although I think Vherokior are hit the hardest. |

Well to be frank, you don't even remotely look like you used to. But that's ok, if you're ok with it; I'm also ok with how I look even though I'd pick Civire if I had to create Jennifer now.
Let me rephrase that part: the people in-game and the forums (like mentioned proposal) who are unhappy with the bloodline change are often Vheroikior because they've changed the most. But there's also people who used to be dark skinned but who can't be anymore (no more India/Pakistan look), hair colours that are removed, no long hair ..
As the OP stated, a lot of people chose their bloodline for the looks since decendance in game doesn't mean anything (except RP wise) and suddenly theyŚre stuck with a bloodline that has totally different options. Only the bloodline names have stayed, their looks have changed dramatically - often beyond recognition - and theyŚre told `but you picked this bloodline!` while in fact they only wanted a certain look. |

Kinetic Wolf looks similar, just the eyes are way off.
I've seen quite a few players make the new Avatar closely resemble their old character,
However, I agree that the starting model in the new character creator should have been closely similar to each characters bloodline as per racial features, skin color, hair, clothes, etc.
Maybe when Piercings, Tats and Scars come out, the 'Bloodline' option will come with it.

You mean everything is different only the angle and lighting (composition) are a bit the same, as if they're made by the same photographer? * the new nose is twice as broad * the eyebrows are darker and thicker * the new one has a beard * teh new one has very asian eyes * the old one has lower cheekbones * the old one has "looser" cheek skin, like he's older * the old one's chin is pointier * hairstyle and haircolour are totally different
Not really any way you could confuse those two IRL! The first one looks like a flamboyant european designer, the second like a Malaysian cab driver.

Hm. What exactly is defined by bloodline anymore anyway? What did it ever define, apart from basic stats, which is now obsolete? |

The only thing Bloodlines are good for are Role-play,there is no reason that could not be changed.
I signed the linked forum to show my support, thanks for making me aware of that thread. |

I am not at all happy with how Khanid turned out. I went from looking Nippon to Mongolian. There is a huge difference, but then again, I wonder exactly how many Asian graphic designers CCP has chosen to employ. If I created a new character, I would not have picked Khanid because of appearance. |

True enough. But we play in a world where faces, ships, and specifications can change any time without warning and afterwards always have been the way they are now.
So a change of blood line isn't really that different from Sansha suddenly switching to shield tank and laser. |

Bummer I thought CCP changed that, once they evened the starting stats.
Oh well, another possibility for a micro-transaction: A different bloodline jump clone.

I think they are still pretty supreme
