Seems to me that the only true pirates are experienced players. Probably because there is no ôsafeö noob pirate corp. If you donÆt believe me join one and see how long you last before they pod you because theyÆre bored. Sure there is petty crime like ore/loot stealing, corp theft etc but when it comes right down to ità its not what youÆd find Black Beard doing.
My guess is that the old school pirates donÆt want no young pretenders spoilinÆ their turfà er surf/space/whateverà

Podding corp members is kinda lame... unless it's someone you hired just because you know he's a corp thief or something though (or if it's a mistake of course).
You can't pirate from day 1 and expect to succeed. Make sure that you have some 0.4- based income before you do, so you don't get stuck in an environment where you won't survive - pirates are rarely able to go to 0.5+, and as a new player it's extremely difficult to get back the sec status lost when pirating.

This is why pirates are scum and newbs should change their mind! Pirates are not kind. Don't accept a lift or sweets off one!

Have an alt account (remains nameless for security) that is a noob, and he is in his second pirate corp. Both work together at times now. We do rather well in the 'fun' aspect, but don't make the serious isk like the gate camping gankers (not real pirates IMHO).
Now I admit that we has an Apoc flying member, that is no noob, but he was a miner that has now turned pirate. We swarm onto a 'customer' and kindly ask for 'rent' while in our area, if they pay, we leave them alone, if not, we blow up the ship. Simple, sweet, and fun (the part of blowing them up is fun).
So yes, noobs can pirate.
NO not all pirate groups will pod the noob member (and if they do, he should be insured anyhow).

ever hear of a ship called the vigil? Yes, you can pirate with that thing with the right skills at only 1 month old....just get a gang of those and a BSs will go down faster than a blink of an eye.

Its not the skills its the guts to do it......
If u have 1 mil sp u can already gank haulers in a frig
take a kessy and go to some rich mining heaven in 0,0 FA)
and kill few haulers..or frig full of zyd/mega or some nice loot
and remember to kill the miners jettisoned cans... nothing more ****es them off when they have mined for 2 hours and u destroy there cans

Sure it's possible, it's not hard to pirate even if ya skills are'nt top notch, just don't be afraid to lose a ship or 2 as it's the only way to know what you're doing wrong like in anything...this is only a game and not a hard one at that so just give it a go.

Doesn't take many skills or isk get a bb dampeners or jammers a webber and a scambler and have a blast. Make sure can use heavy missles and can easily gank .4 and below npc hunting cruisers or miners if in a crusier. Attacked a dom once forgot the webber that day otherwise he would have most likely died but takes a solo bb with heavy missles long time to beat down a battle ship. Also if want to become a hated pirate don't forget the smartbomb on you bb for the pods lot faster than locking them.
